Creative Writing Exercise: Please not the same old Prof and Student for Grades

Inspired by madelinemasoch's call for stimulating exercises, I offer this: Let's have something different in the Prof/Student trope.

I've had a couple in my real life. I did have a student ask for a higher grade in return for sex, but I made her a deal. I'd tutor her in any of her freshman subjects, and if my help helped, she could reward me with a sexual favor that she deemed appropriate (She finished the semester on the Dean's List, btw). Another was a young lady who followed me to my office after class on a Friday to announce that her Dom (a previous student of mine) heard that I'd be alone for the weekend, and that she was to be mine until Monday. I'll also note that I had affairs with two of my female teachers when I was a student. One was while we explored ancient Greek archaeology, and the other was while we discussed and debated anthropological theory.

Any one interested in an intro or vignette to a story of a Prof and Student affair that isn't the same old trope?

Sure, I'll bite. I've never written anything professor/student, and haven't read all that much there either. Here and there, sure, but not enough to feel like I can confidently state what the tired tropes are.

If I had to guess:
  • Student wants a better grade and offers sex
  • Professor wants sex so uses grade to coerce it
  • Student has crush on teacher and attempts to seduce them
I'm probably missing some?

Teacher and student are trapped in his office by a political demonstration and have sex to pass the time of day.

How about student seduces prof, demanding little love notes and gifts to show his affection, then blackmails him using those same notes and gifts to break up his marriage? She can escalate the situation by accusing him of sexual misconduct to the university if the blackmail doesn’t work.
The only problem with this is that it actually happened, but a good writer can take those facts and craft an excellent story.

All of them are grounded in reality, hence they are so tired. A good way to keep the Prof/Student relationship, but refreshing it, is by flipping the script. I've written a couple of times about the teacher having the crush on the student instead of the other way around during my challenge. For a student wanting sex with a teacher, they could use something other than grade to coerce it. Getting caught masturbating is one cliche if you don't want to use bribery or blackmailing.

Another way is to include an extra character, like a parent. I've seen that in a porno. The I/T crowd would be interested. The teacher could use the parent for sex, or have the parent and the student have sex. There are plenty ways this could go.

Perhaps it's a sexual ethics class, and to prove a point, the professor makes suggestive passes at a student away from class (and let's not forget that we don't have to be sexist here and assume the professor is a male and the student is a female), and right before they succeeds, the professor breaks it off and reports back to the class with the understanding that "Sex can be both powerful and poisonous, and you can never take anything about it for granted."

Your first paragraph took me right to Lionel Richie’s video for “Hello,” circa 1985. Still weird decades later!

Alright, I might be going a little crazy with the twists/subversions here, but what the hell:

Student has crush on teacher, has a suspiciously easy time seducing them. Twist #1 is something bad happens in student's life and their grade slips. They decide to try and blackmail the teacher for a better grade by threatening to tell the teacher's SO about the affair, even though this was not their intent going in.

Twist #2: the teacher and their SO have some kind of ENM relationship that makes this blackmail vector useless.

Twist #3: rather than reacting in anger to the blackmail attempt, teacher responds with empathy and coaches student back into better grade.

End with a 3-some with all of them.

I never watched that video. So, I just did. It's... a bit too out there for my taste regarding the trope I mentioned. My execution of it is more subtle... "subtle" she says when she writes porn like the rest of Lit.

Two students make bets about who of them can seduce the teacher. Teacher sets them up with one another and slips away.

Teacher-student that's also student-teacher: two teachers end up enrolling in one another's classes for Reasons - maybe rivals trying to be as annoying to one another as possible, showing up (maybe in bad disguises) and asking obnoxious questions. Enemies-to-lovers inevitably follows.

I'd read that.

Mage sets up a training dungeon for their apprentice - summoned monsters, illusions, flaming explosions, rains of acid and all. They get to the end unharmed, they graduate. The student tries, and tries, and tries again, getting mauled/burnt/melted each time, until they decide to take on the mage instead.
1) mind control the mage to in-trap the way thru
2) read the mage’s memories of making the dungeon
3) clone the mage as a body double and use that to lead the way through
4) sell off the mage’s prized staff to hire a team of adventurers to get em thru.
Etc
