Ari Aster, Roger Eggars, and Ti West are all my current must watch directors.

Horror movies are so not my thing, but somehow I've seen all of these.
I'm not sure which movie the Mia Goth picture is from (I'm assuming either X, Pearl, or Maxxxine). The only thing I remember about Pearl is that her mother speaks German, and my German is really really rusty. So when I could understand everything the mother was saying all I could think was, "Wow, if I can understand her, her German must be really bad too."

Totally agree! Ari Aster is probably a modern day genius. I'd add Mike Flannagan to that list. I don't miss anything he makes and I have impossibly high hopes for his upcoming adaptation of my favorite book series.

That's from Pearl which I really liked especially since I don't know a word of German. šŸ˜‰ I wanted so much more from Maxxxine. It just couldn't decide what it wanted to be. Have you (or she) seen Sinners yet?

We saw Sinners in the theater, and then we bought it the day it came out on streaming. We both love that movie. I need more riverdancing vampires in my life.

I've only seen Dr. sleep of Mike Flanagan's output I think. And as a sequel to one of my top 365 favourite films, it was surprisingly good.

The final credit scene in Pearl with Mia Goth smiling until tears roll is scared into my mind.

I've still not watched Maxxine though.

His limited series are damn near perfect. I'd recommend all of them. Midnight Mass may be one of my top 20 favorite works of fiction.

The Shining is top 5.

I haven't had a chance to see it yet but I've not heard one bad thing.
SEE. IT.
You won't be disappointed.

Also, speaking of vampires, a couple guys at my FLGS are trying to get a group together to start a Vampire: the Masquerade game. I've only played a one-shot before, but I really liked it. I'm super-excited and hope that it actually comes together.

Sounds fun!! The only thing I know about VTM comes from my spouse playing it as a teen.
Have you seen The Crooked Moon trailer??? For a campaign trailer it was <chefs kiss>

Oh, yes... Midnight Mass was good... my wife sold it to me as a nice little show about a church.
Haunting of Hill House was also excellent.
Now I need to go find your "_____ Could Get It" thread. Because Kate Siegel could 100% get it.

I could not agree more. She's on my Do I want to be her or kiss her? list.
