Once there was an organisation called the United Nations. Studied it in school many moons ago and saw it mentioned on the telly a few times. These days though, not a peep.

You'd think that, with all the conflict happening around the world at the present time, entire populations being annihilated, etc etc it would be far more vocal.....let alone actually try and do something to find solutions to the problems. When members of its security council can veto what ever they like and stop sanity and reason in its tracks, then ?

Oh well, I read somewhere once, that it was set up for the benefit of a few. Seems about right.

The veto of the Sec Council needs to be abolished - there are too many countries in that part of the organisation with only their own interests at heart!

We're back to 1938 and the ineffectiveness of the League of Nations - but then, it's been like that for decades!
