New rules allow VA doctors to refuse to treat Democrats, unmarried veterans​

Doctors at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals nationwide could refuse to treat unmarried veterans and Democrats under new hospital guidelines imposed following an executive order by Donald Trump.

The new rules, obtained by the Guardian, also apply to psychologists, dentists and a host of other occupations. They have already gone into effect in at least some VA medical centers.

Language requiring healthcare professionals to care for veterans regardless of their politics and marital status has been explicitly eliminated.

Doctors and other medical staff can also be barred from working at VA hospitals based on their marital status, political party affiliation or union activity, documents reviewed by the Guardian show. The changes also affect chiropractors, certified nurse practitioners, optometrists, podiatrists, licensed clinical social workers and speech therapists.

I read the link to these “rules”, not just what the Guardian wrote. It mentions zero about unmarried veterans or treatment based on political views. It discussed stipulations of man and female care.
The only way you aren’t getting care at a VA hospital currently or going forward is if you have a dishonorable discharge.
The article from the guardian comes across hyperbolic at best.

Getting to the tl;dr version of what the Guardian is upset about is that:

1. The VA and their staff have the right to refuse urology services to biological women who identify as men.
2. The VA and their staff have the right to refuse ob/gyn services to biological men who identify as women.
3. The VA and their staff have the right to refuse to use anyone's idiotic 'preferred pronouns'.
4. The VA and their staff have the right to refuse to deal with anyone's political views if the expression of those views interferes in the delivery of care to any patient.

If you want to go on a tirade about Trump or Hillary then do it somewhere else other than your doctor's office.

I guess you haven't been following DOGE.

The first thing Elon did was cancel all VA reimbursement contracts for private mental health professionals, which allowed veterans needing mental health care to have to travel considerable distances to VA hospitals (just like they did prior to the landmark 2009 VA reforms).

Here on the Political Board we saw the immediate results of that. War hero Bobo took hundreds of pellets of fiberglass and depleted uranium to his buttocks in Iraq, which left him with brain damage from whiplash (yeah, I don't understand the mechanics of that either, but he whined so much about this I believe him). He lives "off the grid" in rural Minnesota and could no longer get to see a mental health professional for counseling and more importantly medication refills.

Bobo could not renew his med and went seriously schizo here back around March and was banned for his own protection.

Another veteran, HisArpy, claims the VA will no longer treat him for his congenital spine defect which will leave him 100% wheelchair bound in a year of so. I don't see how this is a "service-related disability" but HisArpy is a lawyer so presumably he knows stuff.

Would it not have been nice for those who come here on Veterans and Memorial Day accusing dems of not knowing the difference and claiming this was a celebration for the Army's birthday and not for trump had taken the time to congratulate the members here who served? Na. Not a thing.
And what do we know have here? Less than 24 hours after his parade, this fucker turns his back again on veterans. The good thing, I guess, is that it is just an EO and hopefully, all you single (dem or magat, that's right, you too!) vets can get the care you need and a doctor with a conscience. I'm reading this and still don't understand how this can be a thing!
