Trump tore up Iran nuclear deal; now he wants it back

from your source, asshole:

"But by Tuesday morning, Witkoff reversed, saying the president’s position was to eliminate Iran’s ability to enrich uranium — the fuel needed for a nuclear weapon."

keep trying ... even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while...

That deal they have seeked is the same deal we had.

I hear you. I just don't think you have any factually accurate source for that theory. If you're relying on Witkoff, he retracted it (and even when he made it, it was limited to enrichment to 3.67%, which is far below current reality. So...keep trying...

There is no more deal, so it's moot

I’m not the one that forgot he tore up a nuclear deal with Iran. That was your boy, Dementia Donnie.
Who could forget that. Best thing Trump ever did - cancel the deal and break the Iranian Government with sanctions - before sleepy Joe's minions undid the undoing....

Diplomacy would have provided a way to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran without risking a war. That would have been the better way to go.

Agreed, but it takes two to tango. The Iranians had 60 days to come to the table with serious proposals. They elected not to do so. You should be talking to the Ayatollah about the need for diplomacy. He doesn't get it. Well, he's gonna get it now... just sayin'.

For you guys, EVERYTHING is Trump's fault. For you to be saying that the Ayatollah of Iran has demonstrated more diplomacy and positive action on the world stage than Trump is testimony to the extent of your derangement and detachment from reality. Iran is consistently and nearly unanimously considered the most destabilizing, pro-terrorist nation in the world. The only countries that disagree with that are Russia, China, and North Korea. I guess you're happy being in that company.

Still waiting for someone to explain to me that if Al-Quida supporting Syria was given the complete "green light" to purchase nuclear technology from the west by aging dotard Trump why Iran appears to be the only country still left to be forbidden to develop clean efficient nuclear power for a greener world.

Pretty sure you meant to say Saudi Arabia, no???

🤔

No, it is testimony to Trump's utter uselessness in that regard. There's nothing in that comparison that he does not deserve, and you know it.

Trump is a narcissistic careless asshole, so most of his decisions reflect this.

So yes, the shit happening now is because he makes bad decisions.

It's impossible to hold meaningful negotiations with someone who changes their mind tomorrow, and might (or might not) change it back again the day after. But carry on blaming everyone else for not making 'a deal'.

Trump has said that if things turn out well, he did it. If it's the reverse, Biden did it.

So, you see, not everything is Trump's fault. It's Biden's and not 'YOU guys.' :giggle:

Well, to be completely accurate, nothing is Biden's fault since he was non-compos mentis for most of his term. I don't say that to be mean. He was a victim of the worst case of elder abuse in American History. A team of frat boys and sorority girls ran wild in the White House for four years while Joe showed up to try to read a teleprompter when absolutely necessary. It wasn't Joe's fault. It was Jill's fault for letting it happen, and we may never know for sure who exactly MADE it happen. But it happened.

Whether it was Joe, Jill, or the autopen folks making it all run, the fact remains: some positive things occurred. The economy held together better than many expected, and there were genuine attempts to govern with a sense of humanity.

I tend to believe it stems from Biden’s efforts—supported by people who have faith in the ambitious projects he’s credited with. Whatever the machinery behind it, the outcomes usually reflected well on their intentions.

My reflection on our current President's autocratic approach to governance and the lack of economic stimulus finds it uninspiring and achieved not through auto-pen documents and bipartisan legislation, but through questionable, and possibly unconstitutional, executive orders.

You likely have a different opinion. However, I believe we can agree that there is a significant disparity in the two men's approaches to how everyone and their rights should be treated. I respect that, as well as your courteous discourse. Thank you for that.

"Forget all your nuclear ambitions or we're going to fuck your shit up." is NOT a deal, it's an ultimatum.

Trump and Netanyahu played Iran like a fiddle and caught them on their back foot. Now their shit's getting fucked up good and proper.

Of course it is.
ULTIMATUM, n. In diplomacy, a last demand before resorting to concessions.

Having received an ultimatum from Austria, the Turkish Ministry met to consider it.

"O servant of the Prophet," said the Sheik of the Imperial Chibouk to the Mamoosh of the Invincible Army, "how many unconquerable soldiers have we in arms?"

"Upholder of the Faith," that dignitary replied after examining his memoranda, "they are in numbers as the leaves of the forest!"

"And how many impenetrable battleships strike terror to the hearts of all Christian swine?" he asked the Imaum of the Ever Victorious Navy.

"Uncle of the Full Moon," was the reply, "deign to know that they are as the waves of the ocean, the sands of the desert and the stars of Heaven!"

For eight hours the broad brow of the Sheik of the Imperial Chibouk was corrugated with evidences of deep thought: he was calculating the chances of war. Then, "Sons of angels," he said, "the die is cast! I shall suggest to the Ulema of the Imperial Ear that he advise inaction. In the name of Allah, the council is adjourned."
