So, in your completely irrelevant opinion, parliamentary democracy is not legitimised?
The fact that the European Parliament is weak, or that its competence is not so great, is what the Member States want. They want all states to have a right of veto, which is exercised by the European Council. Its members are also elected, because they are the governments of the EU member states.
I understand your anger at the EU. When you have a government, or have had governments, that blames the EU for its own stupidity, incompetence or wastefulness, and every British government since Margret Thatcher has done that, and at the same time the people are unwilling to inform themselves independently, then you have to believe this nonsense.
