Biden's High-speed rail initiative

The editorial you linked to has numerous misspellings, grammatical errors, and errors of fact. It’s not the compelling argument you think it is.
I’ve put my “compelling” arguments on here, too long to list mind you…

That you don’t agree with the conclusions are noted, spelling concern notwithstanding.

Bottom line, your vaunted HSR may never materialize, at least the NorCal to SoCal line. The LA/Vegas line actually has a shot…

Always wondered why Americans have to drive or fly between, say, New York and Boston or New York and Washington. If you had decent railways there would be more room on the roads and less strain on the airports.
People should stay put. :)

The times I have to fly it amazes me the people who are flying. They have no real need to go anywhere but they do because air travel is heavily subsidized.

No. The cost overruns and delays have been staggering so they are killing it.
That’s why I made the statement that no one wastes money like Republicans. All that money and thanks to Tepublicans nothing to show for it. I’m sure the Republicans will schedule a huge parade to celebrate the money they wasted.

You obviously don’t follow California government. Democrats own the HSR failure. They have held the governorship and veto proof majorities in the legislature since the project’s inception.

LOL! The Dems aren’t the one who spent the money and killed the project.

You obviously don’t understand the legislative process. Republicans cannot pass anything in CA without support from the Democrats veto proof majority in the state legislature and the governor.

So now you’re saying Republicans didn’t kill the HSR?
Please make up your mind and learn how our government works.

It’s very simple. The boondoggle project failed miserably under Democratic leadership in California so the Trump administration is pulling federal funding. 👍

The willful ignorance I read daily from the True Faith Radicalized dems is amazing…

How did it fail if it wasn’t complete??
Yes, Trump allowed billions of dollars to go to nothing. You’re starting to see how it was Trump who wasted the money.

It’s very simple.

You're a racist - correct. 👍

BabyBoomer50s being racist:

[Elizabeth Holms riots] Geez, the case hasn’t even gone to the jury and the rioters in CA are already looting the high end fashion stores. If the verdict goes the wrong way the streets of Walnut Creek, San Francisco, and LA could be filled with blondes in black turtlenecks. Not even going to guess how this would all go down if she were black.

No one knows how to waste money like Republicans. I’m sure they’ll be in here soon saying “one more lane will fix it”.

I love that the irony of your post is lost on you. Keep believing though, it’s hilarious.
If you live in CA, this is on YOU. You voted this in. The waste is EPIC on this boondoggle.

Just to set the record straight. The project since its inception been plagued by incompetence. First it was voted on without the business plan being released until after the bond session had been voted on. Things like; train capacity, service levels, break-even points, and how monies would be secured…you know…basic shit that any high school project could come up with! Not to mention the biggie for CA…environmental reviews!

The state government’s betrayal has continued ever since the incomplete and deficient 2008 business plan was not submitted on time. The project continued without adequate planning, supervision, or oversight. Not surprisingly, it continued to go south. The LAO found the HSR’s 2009 report to be flawed: “Discussion of risk management is significantly inadequate, lacking any description of mitigation processes or detailed considerations of many key types of risks”; and “Few deliverables or milestones are identified in the plan against which progress can be measured. Also, inconsistencies in the proposed order of events create some uncertainty.”—LATimes

Cost overruns, timeline and schedule delays…yeah…not President Trump’s problem. You do realize that out of the 17 yrs this pie in the sky project has been attempted, it’s been overseen by Democrat governors for 14 of that.…correct?

Here’s the ultimate poke in the eye. It’s costing, right now, $2.7 m (that’s Million you for democrats) per MILE! That’s not even considering the projected cost overruns for the finish line in…Jesus, what is it now, ‘35?
