Attracting followers

so there are 2 follower lists, but how do you access them individually?
On the forum, click on your avatar in any post, then on your name, then select "About". Scroll down until you see your list of followers.

For the story-side, go to your Control Panel, click "Following" on the left-hand side of your screen, then choose the "Followers" tab. This list is faster to update than your follower count, which can sometimes take a few days to update.

Good question. Don't know, I only know that they're different.

I get a notification from both sides, when I get a new follower, but I have no idea whether there's actually a list. All I know is, they're different.

Out of curiosity, I'll click on their name when I get notified, to see who they are, but other than that, I don't pay much attention. Although I do get good story tips from those who follow me story side, which makes sense. If they like my stories, there's probably something in common with other authors they follow. Except for those people who favourite thousands of authors.

Gotcha, thanks.

Seems counter intuitive to have 2 lists, but ok. Now I understand :)

I've found this really useful, thanks.
Some great tips such as using more tags in a story and adding a link to my stories in my signature are both obvious when I think about it - but just hadn't done it.

Points about using different categories is helpful too. I'll give the contests a go. Annoyed I've missed the Born to Run one as that's one of my fave albums, and I've always had different images in my head whenever I listen to it.

Note that there is a difference between the author organized events (no winners) and contests which are organized by the size and have winners (and actual prizes) and get your story special mentions on the site.

Everything generally wraps around again the next year and everything seems to be a long game. I have a story already written that is waiting for the event next year. But I had an ideaI was saving for next month's crime and punishment event that I got impatient for and wrote early. It's okay though, my friends in the coffee house teased me into writing something very different for the event. Ienjoyed my previous two events much more thanmy one contest, even if I got a lot more out of the contest.

Try and have fun with things and be patient. Now if I could just convince myself to take my own advice...

Attracting followers? What are these strange things?

FYI, the profile link in your sig is a magic link. Anyone who clicks on it gets sent to their own profile page, not yours.

You need to use this one: https://www.literotica.com/authors/hugh_jarce69/works/stories
