You are correct. And the sooner Trump is arrested the better this country will be.

my thoughts on this is that IF Newsom gets arrested, it might provide enough of an outcry against trump's illegalities to see Newsome slide into place as the forerunner in 2028 and right into the White House. I actually hope this doesn't happen: though a great improvement over trump, I do not trust Newsom as his persona already sets my teeth on edge. I see him as another pol whose main concern is his own accumulation of power.
Is any other contender any different in that regard? Even AOC?
since people like AOC and Pritzker, Pete B and Kamala don't come across (to me) as so sleekly oily, maybe they just do a better job of hiding it. It remains to be seen.
