I've stumbled across a few (dozen!) examples of plagiarism to an audio/video "podcast" on Youtube. At first I marveled at the quality of the stories it narrated using an AI voice, then I recognized one of the stories as one I'd read on Literotica, and keep finding more. That podcast recently exceeded 10K subscribers. I'll update the list as I find more. Hmm ... this forum's "Table" function doesn't seem to work very well:

Likes + high ratings here + plagiarism = tens of thousands of views there and probably revenue for someone who's not the author. Success (or a great story) has its costs. I bet there are a lot more Lit stories that have been similarly plagiarized for views, and presumably revenue.

For each plagiarized story I find, in addition to a 5-star rating I leave a comment on the original story including a link to the plagiarized, narrated version.

Edit: I have continued updating this list, searching for more plagiarized Lit stories stolen by this "podcast," and in at least two cases have been delighted to learn that only the first part of these wonderful stories was plagiarized, so more good stuff to read for me (and excuses to keep me from writing more of my own stuff). The original thread can be viewed here, but I'm creating this new thread to keep track of someone under the name "Erotica Podcast Network" and efforts to combat his/her theft of the IP of Lit authors, some of whom are deceased (copyright continues for 75 years after the author's passing) and can therefore no longer defend their work.

I originally discovered that three of my stories were stolen by Erotica Podcast Network (EPN) and posted to Apple Podcasts, along with hundreds of other stories by dozens of other Lit authors. It turns out that the POS who's been turning Lit authors' creative work into text-to-speech podcast episodes is on several other networks besides Apple Podcasts. He's also posted the same infringing material to Spotify, Amazon Music, Listen Notes, Podchaser, and Castbox.

I've reported every single episode in two of the four shows run by EPN on Apple Podcasts to Apple's Content Review team as well as all four of the shows themselves. I'm also going to file DMCA takedown notices for each of my three stories, and if you find that your stories have been stolen in this manner, I encourage you to do the same.

My stuff isn't either, apparently.

It might be interesting to delve into the stories being stolen to see what their score is here, how many words they contain, and other factors that might make them more attractive to someone looking to convert them using TTS and post them to YouTube or a podcast.

Having converted many of my stories myself using TTS, I can understand why someone else isn't grabbing them. My stories would run for as much as 18 hours, with the shortest being 4 hours long.

It's just another indicator of the sleazy readership over there. All stories that show up on YT and other places are " all women evil, all men honorable victims of such evil" their hatred coupled with their bitterness shows how pathetic that group is and now add stealing.

It's not inventing an issue, its addressing one that's more serious and far reaching than your free stories being lifted is. But we don't want to talk about that, do we?

Because its an unpopular fact no one wants to hear that when you put your stories on a free site, you're leaving them hanging out there like fruit to be picked by sleazy people. I am not justifying anyone stealing stories here or condoning that behavior, but only a fool-or someone insanely naive, thinks they're going to post here and this won't happen.

Back in the day, the site would try to get these things pulled down, but its far to pervasive now for them to get tangled up in it, so everyone is on their own.

My stories have been pilfered from here like everone else.

Difference is I accept some responsibility for that because of what I said above.

But accountability isn't as much fun as victimhood.

You post here, you're asking for it, and odds are, you'll get it.

You really don't want them lifted? keep them on your PC or put them up for sale which is easy enough to do. They can still be stolen, but its harder to do and easier to get them removed.

That's definitely a good argument for Literotica and living affected authors taking some coordinated blitzkrieg action against the source - trying to making the whole channel too problematic to deal with so that everything gets taken down. If the infringer finds out that there's a potential loophole due to some of the writers being deceased, that could be an issue, so better to keep that knowledge in confidence externally?

Well, damn!! How annoying. Thanks for letting me know. I've been trying to leave comments on the story, but haven't managed to make them stick yet. Even more annoying that they only posted the first half. It's a slow burn so those who have listened to the first 40 minutes won't have had any relief! So now everybody is frustrated.

Consistent with the previous discussion, this is my most read story in Loving Wives. It also scrapes in at #22 on the 12 month top rated list for LW - I wonder if they're using that list as a source?

I personally think it's an opportunity for strategic partnership. A damn "podcast" steals stories from this site and (no doubt) profits from the views and subscriptions. I have not subscribed to that podcast, fwiw.

There's uncompensated value here -- so many stories are so good. And the stories this "podcast" publishes are like a curated playlist of excellence. Licensing? How would that work? Compensating this site and the individual authors whose works are currently being plagiarized?

For Laurel and Manu to work through -- above my "pay" grade. Might be a win-win.

I personally think it's an opportunity for strategic partnership. A damn "podcast" steals stories from this site and (no doubt) profits from the views and subscriptions. I have not subscribed to that podcast, fwiw.

There's uncompensated value here -- so many stories are so good. And the stories this "podcast" publishes are like a curated playlist of excellence. Licensing? How would that work? Compensating this site and the individual authors whose works are currently being plagiarized?

For Laurel and Manu to work through -- above my "pay" grade. Might be a win-win.

Yay! Thanks again mate for spotting this and letting me know. Luckily I had created YouTube and email accounts under this user name, which made the reporting process easier. I also mentioned the theft on my Literotica profile page.
Looks like I get to keep using the ‘mostly’ next to ‘harmless’ too.
