You do NOT belong to the Democratic Party - even if you “always vote Dem”. (Bernie Sanders - AN INDEPENDENT - “always votes Dem” too).

I'm registered as a Dem. That's the only way to "belong" to an American party. I'm also a member of the DSA, which is not a party -- no candidate ever runs on a DSA ballot line.
