Just got reminded how young people think big things only started happen in recent years.

Me thinking about when Soviet Union collapsed, Berlin wall was torn down, Estonia and other Baltic countries got independence, wars in Yugoslavia, Romania revolted, South Africa ended oppression of POC.... And that's just what I'm old enough to actually remember myself, not stuff that happened when I was too young to follow or stuff that I've read but happened before my birth.
