Yep - Cottonwood Season has arrived

It was good! I added a glaze on the top instead of just a dusting of powdered sugar. Why dust with a half cup when I can combine 2-ish cups with some vanilla ice cream and make a glaze? I didn't have any milk or cream in the house and forgot to get some, hence, the need for vanilla ice cream!

Blueberry and Lemon are often paired up.
I've had lots of compliments when making glaze with confectioners sugar, fresh lemon juice, and fresh lemon zest.

I couldn't take the dogs out without wearing my husband's paint respirator and some swim goggles.

That's the thing about masks that people forget - masks don't help protect your eyes. Of course, I wear eyeglasses which complicates matters.

The scariest are firenados. San Diego has had problems with eucalyptus fires. The trees have so much oil in them and their resin makes them highly flammable.

Terrifying - more so because I react to eucalyptus
I can tolerate it in my cough drops, but the actual plant really irritates my breathing

Fire is my number 1 fear!

It's scary all right. I have a few more ahead of it on my list... but I'm so sensitive that the smoke will get me long before the actual flames get anywhere near me.
