Event organizers have pulled the plug on a Pride “Season Kick-Off” in Boise, Idaho, after failing to sell enough tickets. In a post on Instagram, Boise Pride announced that “attendance didn’t reach the level needed to hold the event responsibly. As a result, the June 6 event is cancelled and all tickets have been refunded.” The post continued, “We remain committed to growing Pride in Boise — but it takes more than excitement. It takes showing up.” The group also clarified that their aspirations to hold the event have not been fully dashed yet, saying, “We hope to bring this event back in the future — stronger and together.”

Some Idahoans have expressed their relief over the canceled event and the broader shift away from the LGBTQ agenda. Blaine Conzatti, the president of Idaho Family Policy Center, told The Washington Stand, “Put simply, the American people are fed up with the increasingly radical Pride agenda — and the rainbow crowd has overplayed their hand. This year — as in years past — Boise Pride organized a ‘Pride Month Kick Off.’ This event generated so little interest in the community that the organizers were forced to cancel.”

Conzatti believes that the election served as a “litmus test” on the Pride issue. “The lesson is that using taxpayer dollars to push radical LGBT ideologies in our schools, our businesses, and our military is not only morally problematic, but also wildly unpopular,” Conzatti said.

The cancellation comes amid a national shift away from Pride, as the corporate world has started withdrawing some of its support from parades in major cities like New York. According to The New York Times, 25% of corporate sponsors have either withdrawn or heavily reduced their financial sponsorship for the Heritage of Pride, which is the organization that produces New York Pride. The organization reportedly is now $750,000 short, which is forcing the group to consider charging for events. Conzatti pointed out, “You also see the backlash in the corporate world, where many woke businesses are beginning to disassociate from Pride advocacy simply because they can no longer afford to ostracize large portions of their customer base.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth Orders Renaming of Navy Ship Named After Gay Rights Icon Harvey Milk

by Ben Kew Jun. 3, 2025 5:40 pm

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered renaming a ship named after the gay rights icon Harvey Milk.

The move was first reported by Military.com, which gained access to a memorandum confirming the plans to rename the vessel.

Renaming a ship is traditionally considered bad luck in maritime lore. This belief stems from the idea that the sea gods, like Poseidon or Neptune, keep a record of every vessel and its name. Changing a boat's name without properly acknowledging the old name and obtaining the sea gods' approval is thought to anger them and bring bad luck.
To mitigate this perceived bad luck, sailors traditionally perform a renaming ceremony, often including a de-naming ceremony, to formally remove the old name from the boat and register the new one with the sea gods. These ceremonies often involve offerings to the sea, prayers, and the recitation of incantations to appease the gods.

My mans is this the same Walmart that said they are raising prices specifically because of Trump's taxes on imported items?
I read somewhere that Walmart and Amazon are not going to raise prices in spite of the tariffs.

Oh cool! Please link that up my dude!
https://www.axios.com/2025/04/29/walmart-prices-amazon-tariffs

Walmart on Tuesday rejected the idea that it would apply an itemized surcharge to purchases to account for President Trump's increased tariffs.
Why it matters: A report Tuesday that Walmart rival Amazon was poised to add a tariff fee to sales in the U.S. triggered outrage in the White House, which condemned it as a "hostile and political act."

Between the lines: Walmart, the world's largest retailer, does "not itemize what goes into the cost of goods on our website," a company spokesperson told Axios.

AI overview

Amazon is not planning to raise prices or post tariff cost increases on its product pages. While there was some initial speculation about Amazon displaying tariff surcharges, Amazon has clarified that this was never approved and is not happening. This decision is not a response to the White House's criticism either, according to Amazon. Amazon has also stated that they are "maniacally focused" on keeping prices low.

One event canceled in one of the most GLBT-unfriendly states in the country? That doesn't mean anything.

Memorial day gets just that ONE DAY and gay pride gets a month? WHO KNEW!!!!
If you don't like it, do your part to put an end to homophobia. Then we wouldn't need Pride anything.

The only homophobia is in your delusional mind.

Sayin' it don't make it so.
As for why Memorial Day is only one day, it does occur to me that dead war heroes do not face hate and discrimination the other 364 days of the year, like GLBTs do. Far from it.
