It's my fantasy. I want the red states to rot in ignorance and poverty. I already boycott the red states as much as possible.
We can start with abolishing the Senate and the EC.
Shift a LOT more power to the States and way less to the Feds. Way way way less.
Decentralization is almost always a bad idea.
I see it as a way to preserve the USA as a federation of states - we are irrevocably split down the middle on so many issues that it seems best to leave it to each State to decide for themselves - and we also have that growing urban rural divide which feeds hostility in States where the urban center dominates the state - Oregon, Washington, Illinois and examples. Best to reorganize around that reality before people start shooting each other.
Well, that doesn't sound like such a bad plan. Though I think the Canadians should get a choice to join or not. We could set up some of those Trump voting machines that fudge ballots, and predetermine the outcome to make sure we have ten new states, including Alberta, of course.
That approach does not go well when the issue is abortion, as we have recently seen.
The Canadian provinces could have joined the Union at any time since they gained full independence from Britain. They've just never shown much interest.
