The more core strength one has, the more support for the back.I remember the day i injured my back. I was fairly young. I didn’t pay much attention to it but over the years it hurt but not to the point i paid it match attention. As i aged it became more pronounced. I’ve tried chiropractic, orthopedic, several RFAs and cortisone shots. The MRI shows one disk slightly compressed and arthritis on both sides if lower spine. I refer to it as my “friend”. Always there and on occasion very irritating. The only thing I’ve found as a relationship is that the pain is proportional to my waist size. If i keep my BMI in check the pain is so much less irritating. I’ve also noticed that if i train with at trainer using resistance training the stronger my core the less the pain.
I read a book called The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After 40 based upon my experience i agree with the author. Even doing all of the above on occasion it still bites but usually is short lived. That’s been my experience. I have to admit on occasion the RFAs really helped allot.
Hence the quote “If i knew i was going to live so long i would of taken better care of myself”. Good luck.
From my favorite philosopher Red Green "Remember, I'm pullin' for ya," and "We're all in this together"
