Hmmm.... what do we think about this?? Agree or disagree?
Who are the 'people' here?
What are we referencing specifically? 'cause it ain't water. Although thank you for finally getting me a glass of it.

Consistency is merely turning up? That's a part of it but if you're erratic when you get there, ain't consistency.
Unless you have a baseline level of competence/output that you are required to hit and the bottom represents doing so but sometimes hitting excellence.

But, that feels a bit of a bullshit answer. Allowing for life and all that stuff naturally getting in the way of whatever, you have to be reliable. You can be consistently low-achieving but hey, it's reliable!
My job relies on my hitting a baseline level of skill and being dependable. If I'm not consistent on these points, work dries up fast.

Agree and disagree. I think the showing up is the thing. Some days that's all you can do, it ain't much but you're present. But some days you can give way more than others and it all balances out in the end. Maybe? Allowing for humanness within consistency.

I think that's a good answer.
I'm often the empty cup who can offer no more of myself than just being present but that's sometimes the absolute most I'm capable of giving. And even if the actual amount changes the fact I'm still giving my all is consistency I think

Also I just thought about how it's interesting how we assume the emptier glads is the less desired one. Some people don't want full glasses of us and prefer sips. I guess it depends on who's drinking?

Ok Study Hall I have a history question!

Do you have a favorite historical era?
Is there a period of time you feel like you'd enjoy living in more?
Is there a historical aesthetic that you'd like to inhabit just a little or that suits you more?

But seriously. I could live in the 1990’s forever. But before that? Maybe pre agricultural society. But any other historical period? No thanks.

Hmm. OK, let's dive into this one.

My favourite historical era from a study point of view has always been ancient Egypt, maybe Old or Middle Kingdom. As a kid the aesthetics of it absolutely fascinated me and I've never really shaken that. But, I would 100% not want to live there.

A period of time in which to live? Late 90s UK was alright, but naivety colours this view. There's just too much restriction and disease and honestly no era is doing well on prejudice but that one seems kind of okay? And it depends where in the world we're talking about, 'cause the late 90s sucked for many, and that includes not far from where I am right now - the 'reunification' of Germany is regarded as more of a western takeover by many eastern Germans. Broadly I'm not one for looking wistfully at the past, because the truth is it never was what it was. So... now-ish, is the only answer I can give. Not now-now, because of rising fascism. But maybe just a little way before. Or a bit into the future, maybe we get our shit together somewhat.

OK, aesthetics, and we can lighten up a bit here! I love more colourful male fashion, and I don't mean garish or clashing, just... a little flash of brighter colour. Shirt, waistcoat, ties that aren't 'novelty'. But, 16th century European fashion (in the upper classes, I mean) went a little bit wilder with shapes and colours. Let's play a bit here!

The Early Modern period is probably my biggest historical obsession. It was a period of incredible change and upheaval. The world we live in now is so incredibly affected by the events of that period, in spite being centuries removed from those events.

I would never want to live there. I think I'd be fine living anywhere in the last 30-40 years.

Aesthetically I kind of wish it was more the norm for men to dress up nice. Back when men used to wear suits in their daily lives. I think wearing a suit is just classy. But it's also a hassle and gets just so hot in the summer.

No, I do not have a favorite. I had a few curious "I wish I could visit" eras, Feudal Japan, the Renaissance period, Prohibition as a Bootlegger or Noir style Detective, but nothing I would ever want to live in, this also covers the last question.

As for a period of time, that would truly depend on if I was reliving it at the age I was, or if I could also pick a certain age to relive it, but, '75-'00, I would love to revisit those years, but, starting '75 in Highschool, so by the time 2K came around I would be in my 40's.
