GOP losing MAGA support?

Here's one who has seen the light.

🧐BREAKING: Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger incinerates Donald Trump for his mass pardon of the violent January 6th insurrectionists — calls it a "slap in the face" to the cops who served that day.

MAGA truly is a historic disgrace...

"That was probably one of my worst days in this job," Manger said of Trump's lawless pardons. "I think it sent a chilling message to every police officer in this country that, you know, you can be involved in some massive public disorder event and that you could have a politician later on decide that, well, I liked what this other, this side was doing, so we're gonna pardon all these people."

Scott MacFarlane CBS News explained that Manger came out of retirement after the Capitol siege to assist in "rebuilding an already understaffed force and beefing up the intelligence unit, which failed so mightily ahead of the siege."

Now, Manger is moving ahead with his planned retirement.

"It was, I think, a slap in the face to every police officer that was here," Manger said of the pardons.

"This is a big job for the person who succeeds Manger. The number of threats against members of Congress is nearing 10,000 a year," explained MacFarlane.

"And members of Congress must be protected in every corner of the country when they return home, not just inside the Capitol Dome," he added.

As if the January 6th pardons weren't bad enough, Trump is now floating the idea of pardoning the criminals who were convicted of plotting to kidnap Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

The signal from this White House is clear: violent crime is acceptable so long as it's pro-MAGA.

Mitt Romney begs to differ. Just him maybe though. Thern again, he left office a few months ago. Ok, guess yer right.
Lol. MAGA sets everything on fire...that's the only mode they know.

Except dear leader

What you fail to see is, people like you are outnumbered and becoming more so by the day.

This is what you Lefties said in September 2024.

It didn't work out that way then, it's prolly not going to work out that way now. But go ahead and keep on telling yourself that your progressive policies are working; we're loving the results as we watch you lose. And lose again. And lose yet again.

That's what worries me. The Democrats have gone extreme left whacko. MAGA has gone just weird whacko. There is no sensible ground in the middle left anymore. Just two extremes and anyone who is not wth the extremists will get primaried and cancelled out.

Originally I thught Trump was the answer, with sensible economic policies on the one hand, and deporting the illegals (which he is not doing to anything like the scale needed) and downsizing the Feds on the other, but he has added in all sorts of whacko shit that just makes him impossible to support.

You're a fucking idiot, Dave.

Some MAGA folks are definitely turning.

The ones who are primarily motivated by racism - like the ones on this forum - will stick by the GOP as long as they keep serving TACOs. 🙂

You could only say that if the Dems were pushing for socialism, which they are not. No position on a non-economic culture-war issue can be "extreme left." Wokeness is not leftist. DEI is not leftist. Trans rights are not leftist. Radical feminism is not leftist in itself. Loose immigration policy is not leftist. Nothing is leftist unless it tends to threaten the plutocracy, and the Dems don't. American politics is a conflict between ideological factions in the country club.

I guess it makes sense for the GOP to lose MAGA support. They are a demotic, working-class faction alien to the party's old middle-to-upper-class business-friendly establishment core. Most MAGAs would have been Democrats before 1960.

Any "middle of the road" candidate wouldn't have been elected because you don't need a housekeeper when you're cleaning up mountains of trash and demolishing stuff before rebuilding.

We're still in the demo phase. Which as anyone who's done home renovation knows, is messy and unsightly.

But, there is not really much worth demolishing.

Not so. People always say that, but candidates who run in the mushy middle usually lose.
Why? At least one reason is that a whole lot of people identify as "moderate" when they're not really. Either they're conservative but don't want to be lumped in with the likes of Trump, or they're liberal but shy away from that label because the right has done such a good job of vilifying it. That's also why you see so much whining about how "we need a moderate party!" when in fact we already have one: the Democrats.
Not the marketed middle, but the actual middle, where people have practical concerns instead of partisan loyalty and ideology.

Demolition only works when a clear plan and competent hands guide it. Any contractor will tell you: before swinging a sledgehammer, you secure the site, gather the right tools, and let the neighbors know what’s coming. There’s structure to the chaos—because the goal is to rebuild.

Instead, we got a felon with no blueprint, safety measures, and no regard for the damage. He didn’t just demo the structure—he blew up the foundation while laughing at the dust cloud. His version of “cleanup” was stacking loyalists, gutting institutions, and sowing distrust in every civic process he could reach.

It wasn’t renovation. It was vandalism disguised as leadership. And now, the neighbors—our allies—watch in horror while we try to make sense of the wreckage.

Which MAGAts? Maybe the Hispanic ones getting a wake up call, otherwise, the average MAGAt votes out of spitefulness and ignorance.
