We have the Monaco GP next and what an iconic race this has been through the years. Classic street track where qualifying is key to a good race with overtaking problematic on the narrow streets and only 1 DRS zone down the start finish straight.

Maximum down force on the cars and not a horse power sensitive circuit as full throttle is only achieved for 47% of the lap.

Really looking forward to this weekend and a race where you have to be very brave to reap the rewards.

Monaco at times seems more like a parade with the minimal overtakes, but it's still a good race. I prefer Monza and Silverstone. I'm happy to see McLaren out front and definitely happy to see teams like Williams having a productive season. It got boring when it was the same teams (Mercedes / Red Bull) and drivers (Hamilton / Verstappen) always out front.
 
Totally agree, thus far the most competitive start to a season in a very, very long time. Also like the underdogs featuring heavily apart from the Aston but my feeling is they have already decided to throw everything into the new rules and new car for next year, which by the way I am very excited to see, these ground effect cars I did not like much at all.
 
Some stats and trivia about the Circuit de Monaco

First GP - 1950 and has never been off since 1955
Most pole positions - Ayrton Senna 5
Most wins - Ayrton Senna 6 with an impressive 5 wins in a row
Laps - 78
Circuit length - 3.337 km

Lastly the "track" was sort of established in 1215 when Monaco was first established as a colony of Genoa.
 
How funny I’ve found this, I’m not a big F1 fan but know if it but I’ve just got confirmation I’m going to Monaco. It’s work not pleasure but I’m looking forward to it

Don't get me started, that will always be the sound of F1 for me, sitting on the back straight at Monza in 2008 as they came howling down out of the Ascari chicane down to the Parabolica was eye wateringly awesome.
 
The clock is ticking, Friday FP1 is fast approaching.

Some more useless trivia about Monaco. Until recently FP1and FP2 was run on a Thursday as Fridays was market day in Monaco.
 
Arguably the best that ever was, the absolute Master of Monaco!

As a lot of the drivers live in Monaco it's there home race and if they bin the car they can be like Senna and just go back to their apartment rather than the team garage.
 
That is a fact, Charles being the only native to Monaco, maybe they can pull a rabbit from a hat and repeat their performance of last year.

Please do, just about 5 hours to FP1 and the harbour must already be buzzing with people and excitement......
