The fate of the “Big Beautiful Bill” will have a lot to do with what happens to the economy and the markets later this year. If the GOP fails to extend the TCJA tax rates and other provisions that are set to expire at the end of the year, individuals and businesses will be hit with a massive tax hike.

The reconciliation bill is going to be a very heavy lift. Johnson, Thune and the WH have an extremely difficult job ahead of them. I would not bet on the House meeting its Memorial Day goal.
