Is there a rule against questioning moderators' actions?

I need to check this out, given the (what seems to me) new environment around here. I've been alerted to rules I didn't know existed, and still am not sure really do exist.

You're talking about pushing back against the no-nude thing?

Why would you feel skittish questioning that? Are you afraid of some kind of retaliation?

Yup. I've recently been described as asking to be banned (for breaking rules I didn't know existed... And am still not sure about.)

There's nothing wrong with discussing site changes. If you're afraid, then stop questioning. If not, keep questioning.

Unless you're getting that directly from Manu or Laurel, it doesn't count for much.

There are some people who are a lot more risk-averse than they need to be.

And then there are the people who don't understand why their comments have been deleted or they've been warned and attribute it to the site's "intolerance" when, really, it's because they've been personally insulting, obscene, or trollish.

You get many perspectives here. Only two really matter.

The rule she broke was posting other people's nudes.

She has been told by moderators that it is against the rules. But she doesn't agree that it is.

Oh. I had no idea. That's different than "discussing site changes," which was what I assumed the OP was asking about.

Yes, @AG31, posting other peoples' nudes is against the rules. The mods were within their rights to nuke them, as I understand it. Questioning that decision will get you nowhere.

I think you're wandering into forums where the mods might be over zealous, but it's never a good idea to repost someone else's nudes. That just aggravates and proliferates the problem - whatever the problem is. I don't think anyone here has much of a clue about that.

One thing's become vaguely clear to me through all this - there are forum mods and there's the site management, and I'm no longer sure how tightly joined together they are!

Mods have control over their area, you can disagree but it probably won’t make a difference. You can try to go above their heads to Laurel, but if you are breaking rules like posting other people pictures, you could actually get yourself banned.
Trying to peer pressure the mods will have little to know effect.

There's no rule I know of as long as you don't get personally insulting, obscene, or trollish.

Question away.

It all depends which mod you get. It can vary wildly. Some are quite understanding and relatively easy going, but others have a stick up their ass and cannot be questioned.

I like staying here in AH. Everyone here, for the most part. is an author and we can talk to each other from a shared background. The other forums? Ick.

They’re all super cliquey and all have their own norms and mores.

It’s weird to me because there are times when I forget that this is a porn site and not an author’s hangout, and that most people are here are looking to get off, especially with other people. It can remind me of my youth in the AOL chat rooms of the 90s. I have absolutely no interest in any of that, lol.

I’ll stay right here. AG, stay here too and let the other folks do their thing.

EDIT: I would have stayed right here, but the mods moved this thread from AH after I wrote it, lol.

umm yeah this should just be common sense sorry. Don't post other peoples nudes...mostly because it cannot be guranteed that it was consensual and not revenge porn or something. Sorry but not seeing why this is hard to understand?

Porn pics are different because they are put out there for public consumption but a persons private nudes is another story...so yeah AG31 you are in the wrong on this one.

If it’s posted on this site, it’s a porn pic. There is nothing private here. You don’t even need to be registered to see the forums.

I always find it odd that people seem to have expectations of privacy in places where there literally is none. This is as public a place as the town square. You walk around there, somebody snaps a photo of you, that’s not on them, lol.

If you want to post your own porn pics have at it. If take a picture of someone else and then post it here with out permission or knowledge that's scummy. (and don't try and pull the well the person said i could! There is no real way to prove this.)

This person they posted might not have an account on lit at all...they would have no idea that their nudes are being posted and being show to a bunch of strangers.
Not everyone who takes nudes are doing it with the intention to show it to other people. If this was done in chat they would banned.

So in the end this thread should be called "I broke a rule because i didn't bother to read any rules and then got told no and had my hand slapped and now I want to whine about it."

The no nude rule here is brilliant...because we're ALL Puritans here, especially the site owner(s).

Okay, I can be wrong here... but, as far as I understand the (rather extensive) conversation thread OP is referring to, she didn't "share someone else's nudes". She used someone else's avatar, from this forum, as an example to ask for clarification on the newly announced rules about nudes. And, instead of simply answering the question, the post got removed with the info "don't post other people's pictures... that they publicly use on this forum". Now that somehow turned into "other people's nudes", even though the avatar was as nude as a bikini would leave you "nude".

However, the reason this thread seems to exist is that she then used another avatar, which merely showed an illustration, to, again, ask for clarification. And, again, instead of getting an answer, she was told that she seems to be asking to be banned.

I don't know. I kinda feel like using an avatar, from this forum, that someone uses publicly, isn't really as big of a deal as posting your ex-girlfriend's nudes without her knowledge.

She took someone else's pic off this site, and reposted it

a) removing their control over their nudes
&
b) against site rules

It was removed by the site owner

Avatar it not, it is a picture that doesn't belong to her, showing full frontal nudes of both the AV owner and another person.

A lot of people pointed out to OP that posting that pic was against site rules, but she ignored it.

She also boasted about downloading other people's nudes, and whilst everyone who posts them knows it happens, it's still massively bad form to do it.

She proved a few times in thee thread that she has no respect for other posters, or the rules.
