I don't usually like much drug use in stories, but I think it'd work for the first night she cheats. She doesn't want to seem like a prude, and she can brush off part of her guilt in the morning by saying "I was on drugs, it's not completely my fault." So the next night she doesn't take the drug and yet the same thing ends up happening.
