The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Not me - behind all day with no sign I'll catch up.
I'm an hour behind my normal lunch break... and still have a full day's work to somehow cram into the last few hours after lunch. Phew!

Just so ya'll know... I'll be logging off pretty early today.
I'm leaving early tomorrow morning for an out of state road trip. Should be fun - except for all the driving.
I'll be back around next Wednesday (4/30).
We will miss you

Well, we had an imaging appt this morning for Mom at 0800. We didn't make it. After I woke her up, she fell on her way to the bathroom. This is the second time she has fallen in a week.

She has deteriorated rapidly over the last three weeks. Tonight, we are discussing how to escalate her care and making an appointment to her GP to see if they want to reevaluate her level of care so we can upgrade her insurances coverage

I hate to say it, but I think we will move into a hospice situation. If not now, then soon. I'm glad I'm here for that but I'm sad to see it get to this point so rapidly.

Asking for good vibes, laughs and smiles. Anything sad I've already got in spades.

Quick catch up before I ditch out for the weekend...
I’m sort of caught up, but I’ve missed a couple large swaths of posts.

I will never keep up given my workload.

Basic math:

Boss: You really only have to create six pages of deliverables for what we need.

Me: that’s six pages for seven implementations. That’s 42. There are four work streams - 42×4 is actually 168 pages of deliverables.

_______ is working on a project with two other people and has three consultants that is the same size as this project. I’m working on this project alone.
I am not doing it.

(Well yeah, I pussied out and will do it….)
Do you and @Missk_2022 have the same manager?
Talk about uneven distribution of staff resources.
Your boss? Feels like he's doing you wrong, man. smh
Present and accounted for, sir! 🙋🏻‍♀️🫡
Not the clip I originally had in mind. I think this one is better actually.
Oh my giddy aunt... I really love where my mind takes me sometimes. Such wonderful gems I find.
Tell em your name is Keith Moon.
 Does that really work??
Finishing up my nails today. Trying to decide on pink or silver glitter! 💅
Why not both?
GMTA - I was thinking the same thing. 😁
This is not true for me. You are not allowed to give blood in France if you spent more than a year in the UK between 1980 and 1996. This is due to the outbreak of BSE (Mad Cow Disease) at that time. So my blood is strictly for my own boners! ;)
I can’t give blood in the US for similar reasons but less than a year and others.
From the American Red Cross website:
Updated Travel Related Restrictions to Blood Donation Eligibility
In 2020 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration updated its deferral for variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) related to mad cow disease, making those who spent long periods of time in certain European countries now eligible to donate blood or platelets. Recently, the FDA further updated its blood donor eligibility guidance on vCJD related to mad cow disease, effectively removing the deferral. Those who spent time in the UK, Ireland and France and have never tried to give blood may be able to donate blood with the Red Cross, beginning Oct. 3. (Those who have previously tried and been deferred from donating will be contacted by the Red Cross once system records are updated.)
For more information, see our Eligibility Reference Material.

Today’s forecast in southern Great Lakes State is to reach the 80s with storms coming tomorrow.
Earlier this week they teased us with talk of 70 F and sunny today. Here we are and it's 45F and rainy. If we need the rain though, I'll take it.
The trouble comes from the baker lol
Oh, sure, blame the bakers...

Race starts on two hours out by the lake (eerie). Here goes nothin' 🏃
Hope it went well!!
Morning, all. Just waking up, and realized I didn't set the coffee up for this morning. Thankfully I have a late start at work so I can still get my three cups in. It rained last night and this morning, forecast calls for more all day. Should be a good training day.
Come for the drama... stay for the coffee
Good lord! Three cups? Just put them in a giant tumbler and lie like the rest of us.
🤫 It makes a better story the other way... more dramatic
OK, this is an OLD joke. Did you all miss it?
Hmm, I think maybe we're all secretly working at the same place??
The 70’s Do RJ! 🤣. I had a big red Afro the Jackson 5 would have envied. I think I only came in second to the drummer for Boston, Sib Hashian…

My only fear is if I post that pic, somebody will steal it and make it one of those internet memes🤣. it was that bad…
This is awesome!! And he's got a beautiful afro!!
True story: When I was @ 14, I asked my mom if I could get my hair permed. So she took me to "her hairdresser". Lovely woman. Did a great job and was super nice to me, too.
And yet, my expectations were not met.

Neither is my actual photo, but the latter is eerily close
I might just get something done today.
Besides posting on lit
I got almost everything done but it was close
I got a fancy new phone
Feels good, right? I call mine a brick because compared to my old one? OMG
But it's so fast and can do so much. I learn something new about it almost every day.
I'm sure I still only utilize about 8% of it's full capabilities.
We will miss you
Awww, I'll miss you guys, too!
Not really looking forward to all the driving (8 hours 1-way), but the rest should be fun. 😁

Hi jailin. You appear to be new to this thread. Here’s how we does things.

1. No politics, religion or drama.
2. No hittin on the womenfolk

If you think this is a match, and you can play by these rules, feel free to join.

If not, there are 1000s of other threads on lit that would be more appropriate for you.

Okay. As long as you don't hold that bit I did in the penitentiary against me.
