First married, in our first house. Woke up, and it felt a little chilly. Went down and popped the cover on the stat. The contacts were closed, but furnace wasn't running. Huh???
Wiggled the contacts and it fired right up. Then I looked at the thermometer. It was 34 degrees in the house...

That was warm… we had no heating system in our first … just a gas fire in the lounge. Winter there was always ice inside of the windows

My neighbor uses a torch thing. It's attached to a propane bottle. He fries the weeds with it. I'm thinking of getting something like that. I don't want to use RoundUp or other kinds of weed killer.

I use a mixture of salt, vinegar, soap and water as my weed killer. I need to use it on my patio after the rain tonight.

I still have mine and my flannel lined jeans, wool sweaters, merino long johns, socks, ski mask etc. down here in sunny Fla. The temps will be in the 90s next week but i am, as a former boy scout, prepared!

For those of us in advanced years Decaf is the road to a good nights sleep. Waking up at 3am is not the best thing.

In my case it was not caffeine but an older dog needing to be let out. Still 330 is not fun.

Over the years we have had our fair share of dogs. Our new little guy was chosen because we could paper train him so he would not need to go out. Also holding onto a 110 lb Old English Sheep dog was difficult. We moved to FL and lost our big, fenced in back yard. Anyway that is all to say we picked a Shih Tzu that at worst just need help getting down from the bed.
