Cock Talk

*psst - I was making the joke that I didn't get any - it's not as funny if I have to explain it. Bless your heart.*
That's why I gave you an open-ended question to work with! You can go in any direction you want, even just throwing out a knobhead insult. Hotwords would've loved it! We've got to get you into an improv class

I grew up in an old farm house. My mom was TERRIFIED of bats and would scream like there was an axe murderer in the house when she saw one. I can remember numerous mornings being woken up by her blood-curdling screams. I would get out of bed, get my tennis racket and then go play tennis in the kitchen or living room. I got really good at my overhand and smashing a bat into the wall.
Since this was only a few years ago, being as you are in your early twenties, did they think about putting up a bat house? Those things are really cool.
Hot dogs, ramen, and whatever the air fryer will let me do. I made this dinner the other night and was really proud of myself. Ignore how ugly the chicken looks, it was pretty moist and delicious
Do you put hotdogs in your ramen? Not judging. It is quite common. The chicken looks pretty good actually. I would have covered it in Frank's Red Hot™️ Buffalo Sauce. (not sponsored)

I can check the oil on my car, change the oil, fan belts (these were older cars!), gaskets, tyres.
I am in awe of people who can do that themselves.
I had to pick up the dead frogs in the garden, get rid of the dead pet hamsters and fish.
I think when you are a mom you put up with a lot more stuff. ❤️
The odd occasion i get the chance to 'chef'. I enjoy it. And I'm good at it.
What is the difference between cooking and "chef"ing? Sorry, I'm American. 😘

murder was the only option available at the time. There were hundred in the attic. I wish we had taken video of them leaving one night. It was hilarious, but almost killed me mum at the same time

I haven't yet, but the kiddos would fucking love that. Thank you!

There is a vinaigrette on the salad that is almost imperceptible. It worked to rub the chicken in that, but you're right the Frank's© would've been a great choice

Haha - that's not a British v American thing. It's probably a @Wand3rlust thing

Cooking is burger and chips, and spaghetti bolognese, and chicken pasta, and things that can be ready in 20 mins to half an hour

Chef ing is 'I'll cook tonight. For starter we'll have mini steak tartae, and then for main, pan fried sea bass, on crushed potatoes with French beans and a rosemary jus, and then for dessert, we'll have baked alaska'.

Fine. But I still have to do all the homework and stuff that needs doing each night, while you're poncing around in the kitchen, using every pan I own, then leaving me to clear it up, cos you 'made dinner for me, you know, to help me out'

Hehe

That sounds wonderful. I've never been "Wand3rChef'd" before. I would be happy to clean up afterwards.

I can fix a pipe, change a washer on a tap, replace a light fitting, wire a plug, change a light switch, and I can check the oil on my car, change the oil, fan belts (these were older cars!), gaskets, tyres.
Huh. All this time that's what I thought men were for. 💁‍♀️

Again, single parent. To 2 girls. I am responsible for everything.
OMG, same!
What? I thought you only had one child, default.

Oh. Wait. You have partial custody with the one you sorta fathered with Aussie. *nods*

Sexparation of Powers:

What traditional ‘around the house’ activity makes you “feel like a man” or “feel like a woman”?
Yard work, putting things together, any maintenance item, honestly doing anything productive.
In what way are you the least traditionally “manly” or “ladylike”?
With our special needs son, I am the one who usually calms him down. I also handle the errands when it comes to his appointments.
In your relationship(s), do you like to follow basic chivalry, or do you prefer non-traditional roles?
I just try to be respectful.
How good at plumbing, electric and basic home/auto repair are you?
I can do the basics for plumbing, basic home/auto repair. I'm scared to death to do anything electrical.
There’s a bat in your house! Do you calmly catch and remove it, scream and call the Marines, or burn the house down and move to a non bat area?
I'd work on getting it out while telling her and him to relax.
Can you cook? Do you like to, or is it necessity?
I love to cook. Always have. I was in the restaurant industry since I was 14 before officially stopping a few years ago.
Do you separate the responsibilities in the house, or are you both responsible for everything?
She has things she does. I have mine. Rarely do the boundaries cross.
What do you not understand about men/women?
There's a list. (Been a while since I used that line. 😁😁😁

I wasn't aware that Crossfit had a plumbing division
There’s an old saying, “A woman’s place is on my face”. Okay, that’s not an old saying, I may have made that up, but I like it.
Can I embroider that on a tea towel?
Anyway, the point of this one is male/female traditional roles and how triggered we are to even point them out. 😁

What traditional ‘around the house’ activity makes you “feel like a man” or “feel like a woman”?
Most of my "womanly" skills are pretty practical; gardening, sewing, home canning, etc. don't make me feel feminine so much as put upon. If I don't do it, who will.
In what way are you the least traditionally “manly” or “ladylike”?
Pegging? Just kidding 😂.

I do all of the maintenance, repairs & remodeling in my home. The garage & tools are my domain.
In your relationship(s), do you like to follow basic chivalry, or do you prefer non-traditional roles?
I enjoy chivalry. Going to events or nights out, are some of the few times I get to feel feminine & cared for.
How good at plumbing, electric and basic home/auto repair are you?
I can build you a home from excavation to shingles. However, my car is run by Gandolph for all I know.
There’s a bat in your house! Do you calmly catch and remove it, scream and call the Marines, or burn the house down and move to a non bat area?
Bats are adorable sky puppies, I'd probably calmy try to catch it so I could take a picture & name it before I released it, whilst my city-boy spouse cried in the corner.
Can you cook? Do you like to, or is it necessity?
Yes, I'm an excellent cook. I grew up being volun-told in a family catering business. I can cook for 5 or 500, nothing inbetween.
Do you separate the responsibilities in the house, or are you both responsible for everything?
We divide labor pretty evenly, each doing what we're best suited for
What do you not understand about men/women?
Goood Lord, just talk about how you're actually feeling. The world will not come to an end if you talk something through.

*pinch* 🤭
There’s an old saying, “A woman’s place is on my face”. Okay, that’s not an old saying, I may have made that up, but I like it.
I have no problem with the idea of the face place! I think you should be in charge of making up old sayings.
Anyway, the point of this one is male/female traditional roles and how triggered we are to even point them out. 😁

What traditional ‘around the house’ activity makes you “feel like a man” or “feel like a woman”?
I don’t like to feel trapped by expectations of me. I like to cook. I like to keep things tidy and clean. I do not like to clean up after others all day or be responsible for getting others to so for themselves. I like to make my home pretty and cozy.
In what way are you the least traditionally “manly” or “ladylike”?
I like to just give projects a shot. I paint. I powerwash the siding of the house and driveway. I changed the headlights on my car. I know a lot about certain models of cars because of my dad. I don’t want to wait around for someone else to do something if I can do it myself. I’m not sure if that is manly or stubborn.

In your relationship(s), do you like to follow basic chivalry, or do you prefer non-traditional roles?
I appreciate it when I know that someone is going out of his way to show me that he cares. That is how I view chivalrous treatment. I do not like it when it crosses in to being talked down to or not taken seriously.

I do not like it to be assumed that anyone is going to do anything because of his or her gender. I believe that is short sighted and you’re not taking the time to know the person for them. You’re just relying on a label
How good at plumbing, electric and basic home/auto repair are you?
I really don’t mess with electricity or water. I know my limits. I can really cause a lot of damage if I try to fiddle with those projects. I’d rather hire a professional- male or female- to do the job right.
There’s a bat in your house! Do you calmly catch and remove it, scream and call the Marines, or burn the house down and move to a non bat area?
Open the doors and windows and enjoy a cup of coffee while I read a book.
Can you cook? Do you like to, or is it necessity?
Do you separate the responsibilities in the house, or are you both responsible for everything?
I love to cook. Sometimes after a long day, I’d rather not, and I’m happy to let someone else cook. But for the most part. I enjoy it and do most of the cooking and he does the dishes.
What do you not understand about men/women?
What’s with leaving cabinet doors and drawers open? That drives me insane.

What traditional ‘around the house’ activity makes you “feel like a man” or “feel like a woman”?
I guess cooking... that's pretty gender neutral these days, but growing up my mother was the one who cooked, so I guess I get it from that

In what way are you the least traditionally “manly” or “ladylike”?
I rarely wear makeup or get dressed up. I'm pretty independent & do things for myself.

In your relationship(s), do you like to follow basic chivalry, or do you prefer non-traditional roles?
I prefer non-traditional roles. Chivalry in a relationship makes me feel like I'm not being seen for me, but I'm just fitting into a mold for someone. I've been there, it's not fun.

How good at plumbing, electric and basic home/auto repair are you?
I'm all right... I've been learning more in the last few years since my parents have gotten too old to do things for themselves. I've installed a sink & a light fixture!

There’s a bat in your house! Do you calmly catch and remove it, scream and call the Marines, or burn the house down and move to a non bat area?
Not so calmly catch it, I think

Can you cook? Do you like to, or is it necessity?
I can follow a recipe. I'm not good at just throwing things together. It's a necessity for me, but I liked doing those meal kits the two times I tried them.

Do you separate the responsibilities in the house, or are you both responsible for everything?
I don't live with a partner, but I'm all for splitting things evenly.

What do you not understand about men/women?
I'm not sure I understand the question... I mean, I can't understand what it's like to live in the world as a man, I guess.

This could have saved the world tour 😔

What traditional ‘around the house’ activity makes you “feel like a man” or “feel like a woman”?
Laundry definitely feels traditionally feminine to me, the same way grocery shopping and cooking or baking does. There’s something really satisfying about knowing I’m the one who made sure the clothes are clean, the fridge is full of their favourite things, and there’s a meal waiting that says I was thinking about them.

In what way are you the least traditionally “manly” or “ladylike”?
Ladylike women bite their tongues and I’m not very good at that 🙃

In your relationship(s), do you like to follow basic chivalry, or do you prefer non-traditional roles?
I’ve always treated people with respect and care, and that just deepens when I’m in a relationship. I love being the one who brings comfort - serving a meal, making sure his keys and wallet are where they should be, rubbing his back or feet after a long day. It feels good.

Just like it feels right when a man is out shovelling snow early in the morning while I’m still warm in bed. Or when he drives and I get to be the relaxed, distracted passenger. He meets my needs and I get to focus on giving him everything he wants.

How good at plumbing, electric and basic home/auto repair are you?
I’ve done some basic auto and home repair. I’m not an expert, but I can follow a YouTube tutorial like a champ.

There’s a bat in your house! Do you calmly catch and remove it, scream and call the Marines, or burn the house down and move to a non bat area?
I know this one, I know this one!!

If there’s a bat in the house, and it’s flying around, I’d turn off the lights and open a window. Then sit down quietly and wait, it’ll circle for a bit, then leave.

If it’s sleeping somewhere like under clothes or a bed, I’d gently cover it with a towel or t-shirt and move it outside, then wait for it to crawl out.

If it shows up during the night while we were sleeping? That’s a call to the doctor for a rabies shot, even without a visible bite or scratch.

Can you cook? Do you like to, or is it necessity?
Absolutely, I can cook and usually I enjoy it unless I’m feeling burned out.

Do you separate the responsibilities in the house, or are you both responsible for everything?
We definitely divide up responsibilities in the house. I have no interest in changing the water tank filters and he has no interest in decorating for Christmas 🤷🏼‍♀️ it makes things simple.

What do you not understand about men/women?
What I don’t understand about men or women is how some people can see someone clearly struggling and feel nothing. Like… really? You’re that emotionally unavailable on purpose? That’s not mysterious, that’s just boring 🥱
