🌶️💃🏻🎸Brat House: Boobs, Bums and Bedlam🌶️💃🏻🎸

What do the Brats think of CBD Gummies? Lady K got a few packages of these today to help alleviate her pain and help her sleep better.?
Weird timing but I just had my 45 minutes appointment with a chronic pain specialist to go over my pain medications. And he's prescribed two over the counter supplements for my neuropathic pain:

600mg of palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) twice a day

1500mg of magnesium glycinate per day

It may be worth checking with Lady K's physicians if these supplements can assist. The list of conditions it helps listed on my patient information form is: fibromyalgia, chronic muscle pain, migraine, back pain, arthritis and neuropathic pain. The pain specialist today told me that CBD won't help my pain.

I appreciate @cactusjack0584 ..... He makes better coffee than I do.

I'd really rather not do anything today
I feel that. Today I actually got a heap of work done before I needed to go to the pain specialist. But after being poked and prodded, I collapsed on the couch and have only moved for food. Should really just go to bed

Please keep us updated. My wife suffers from chronic pain due to CRPS and anything non-narcotic would be a blessing, even as she says if the pain reduction is at any level.

I was skeptical of all the CBD claims myself.

But I tried it on my elder dog, RIP, and it definitely improved her mobility, leading me to belive it lowered her pain levels.

So I tried it myself and it did help me as well.

Now the placebo effect is a real thing but dogs don't have that level of understanding or capacity do they?

The THC did nothing for my pain but the CBD sure did and allowed me to stop going to the pain clinic to get vicodin.

Of course as they say YMMV

Good morning everyone. Here’s some ☕️ for you early risers. It’s funny you are discussing chronic pain. I’m in a group therapy session with the VA to “work on” our pain. No medical review of the meds we are on, no one-on-one discussion with a pain specialist, just taking about using box breathing to help center us and acknowledging that our pain is real. No shit Sherlock! I’m living with the pain every day and I know it’s real. The VA either throws pills at you to treat the symptoms or has group therapy to talk about the symptoms but they never want to work on treating the source(s) of the pain.

-Stepping off my soapbox-

Sorry for the early morning rant. Hope you all have a good day today.

Being a vet myself I have had a few experiences with the VA, nothing major but I do have buddies that have. I have heard of very few instances of a good experience with them. I know they exist but it’s less common I think. I’m sorry your time with them has also sucked. And nothing wrong with a soapbox moment at all.

My other option for medical treatment is TRICARE, the medical group for military personnel and retirees. They are less user friendly than the VA. When people say we need nationalized healthcare I just point to the VA and TRICARE as an example of how the government runs healthcare.

I'm sorry to hear that, and please do vent when you need to. I live in Australia and am extremely privileged in that we have both universal healthcare and worker's compensation. I did have to wait 6 months for this appointment and I don't know if this will make you feel worse or better, but I've been prescribed group therapy 🤣 as well as a new VR therapy. So I will be trying any evidence-based treatment the pain specialist will give me.

Thanks my Queen 😍

Firstly condolences for the loss of a dear furry companion. I haven't done the deep dive into the THC and CBD therapies, but I do know that it's all about the sensitivity of your nervous system. So for some it will be of no benefit, to others the best benefit. I'm glad that you got some relief and got off the Vicodin.

And you taught me something today Texan... I had never heard YMMV before 🤣💖
