When I am sharing something that’s important to me and someone comes back with a platitude like Things could be worse, I assume they have nothing to offer anyone and immediately delete.

It’s odd to me when someone wants to center themselves in others’ pain. And as trauma goes, we don’t need to get into a pissing contest but I’ve had plenty since the day I was born. I choose to set it aside and offer to help.

My trauma is never an excuse to not listen to, and be a friend.

For some people, letting others know they’ve been through something similar is how they relate to others. An effort is usually made not to make it all about themselves, but some of us have been through some pretty horrific shit, so if we’re making the effort to hold that back and simply say “it could be worse,” trust that it really, REALLY has been, but we’re trying to focus on your issue anyway.

Some men will do a lot of work to see a random pair of boobs. Something that is just a short google search away. I always appreciate them when I see them but I'm definitely not going to comb through someone's posts just to see them.

If there's a particular lady's parts I'd like to see, I'd rather spend my time earning a pic sent to me than to spend sifting through post for a random pic.
