Actually... let me give you a more honest answer... when I hear a song, I tend to kind of go deep into it, and whether I like it or not, will likely remember the song. Sometimes, only hearing something once is enough for it to get stuck in my head. That's why I'm actually pretty careful about what music I will listen too. I sometimes try to turn that part of me off, so I can just listen to something, and beebop along like everyone else... just have fun. But, that's harder to do than it should be.....I always wonder what it must be like in the mind of a musician...
I agree with that completely. It took me years to realize that what I feel when I hear music "A", not everyone else feels that. Many just hear a tune. I feel it. I've said for years, music, is the sound of emotion. For me, that is very true.@BrendaBear
"a musician's life is a song" suggests that a musician's experiences and journey are interwoven with music, and their life story is expressed through their art, much like a song tells a narrative.
For a musician, music is not just a profession, but a way of understanding and making sense of their own existence and the world around them.

It also means... I have a very abstract understanding of everything. I kind of see the world as "concepts", musical concepts, physical concepts, mechanical concepts, but just a thing. Then somewhere else, like at the back of the warehouse, is a dusty shelf where the names of those things are stored. For some reason, the two very often aren't connected for me. Someone can name the name of a song, even one I know pretty well, and have performed on stage, and I won't know what it is. But play 2 or 3 notes? I've got it and I'm right there. That's part of why I always preferred to play bass... because until I hear a little bit of the song, I probably can't remember what it is. Not all the time, and certainly not everything... but a whole lot of stuff.
