They sit on their hands and cry impotence in fascism’s very face. Then you ridicule others sir supposed political impotence.

But when a socialist gets a microphone and speaks at a rally, Democrats are not impotent then. Are they. They order off platforms anyone who makes a credible case for real change, and threaten them with police goons if they don’t.

On elections, neither party will allow a genuine socialist party to form a government.

And socialists don’t run to win elections. We participate only to raise class consciousness and to make political contacts, disseminate flyers, present perspective, take names, hear stories, do interviews, and otherwise engage on issues in the community, workplace, etc. Then that information is published as an article or video interview.

But our most important action may be to share SEP statements and party resolutions. These documents come out multiple times per year. Our International Editorial Board also publishes perspectives. Our many Rank-and file Committees publish statements.

Becoming a Democrat or Republican is fairly simple. You par a few bucks; you sign a statement. What else do you expect?

The Socialist Equality Party membership means you have studied revolutionary theory and practice— possibly for years.

Socialists have no expectation of being voted into office. Nor again would it be allowed. But the working class, which is the 90%, can put itself in power any time it unites to do so.

So when that comes, where stand you — alone? Or with your GOP paramour?

You make being a socialist sound like joining an exclusive sorority. You have to study to learn all the secret rules and handshakes. No thought of winning elections or passing legislation to help workers. You just hand out flyers and issue position statements.

The rest of us will keep fighting fascism while you hold your club meetings.

The GOP will survive. Hopefully the fever breaks soon because I'm not certain the nation can survive another round of this absolute insanity but there it is.
