For years, decades really, I hated all musicals, with a white-hot hatred reserved for The Sound of Music because it always played as the Disney Sunday movie during Easter.

About 15 years ago, I re-watched it and discovered that (1) Julie Andrews is an angel on Earth and (2) I didn't hate it; I even liked it.

I'm still quite skeptical of musicals, but will not protest their playing in my presence. That said, I was underwhelmed by Wicked: I am the only one in my family and friends group who wasn't having about it.

(I, too, would have preferred to leave the theater/theatre early and make out with Kit in the parking lot 😈)
