Husbands play wingmen/matchmaker for their wives

I thought of a scene and thought it would make a fun story: two married couples are planning a four way when suddenly both husbands pretend to be sick and say they have to bail, leaving their wives alone on a bed in their lingerie. The two wives look at each other and start blushing.

I figured it was a story about two women that are in love and their husbands see it but they are unwilling to confess it so the husbands eventually decide to work together so their wives will be in a situation where they have to admit their attraction.

I figured for comedy sakes the wives keep making group dates the husbands are getting tired of going on and they keep planning swinging nights but just between the two couples and husbands are really tired of it.

(“Sweetie I think Lacy would like it if you fucked her while she faced me? Maybe you two could even press us together. You’d like to see our breasts squishing together right? We could even make out if it makes it hotter for you both)

Maybe wives are both closeted and while husbands are actually quite accepting the wives both come from backgrounds where they had to really bury any same sex attraction.

I figure the wives are bi and no one gets divorced at the end but that’s just my take, a happy little polyamorous relationship where two women find love while their husbands get to take a break from constant group outings.

I like the idea. The men see the attraction there. The connection. So they plan out the swap on the same bed, which they have never done before, and they let things happen organically.

She gasped and looked at Susan, her heart racing. She smiled seductively at her best friend and then looked back at the men. "After you bring up another bottle of wine, you are dismissed for the evening."

I read the title and immediately assumed this post was going to be able two (or more) couples that for some reason the men are acting as wingmen for their wives to hook up with other men, not with each other.

Which made me immediately imagine a scenario where friends are drinking at a bar and joking and somehow the topic ends up being which wife is still hotter. One wife comments on how the other was so hot in college... all the guys wanted her. The other wife say, "Maybe, but you've aged better and are now the prize". The men weigh in, careful not to get themselves in trouble, arguing that their own wife is the hottest and still turns heads and just the other day there was this guy checking her out, etc etc. The wives blush at the attention. The guys get competitive and try to come up with a way to make it a bet and an objective way to settle it. After haggling over what the rules are they come up with the challenge for the wives take of their rings and to go to the other side of the bar as if out alone. Getting chatted up is a point. Asked for your number 3. Asked to go out 5. He tries to kiss her in the bar... 10. Invite to his place right now 20. The women are appalled at the men's suggestion, but, after some cajoling and begging to settle the bet, the agree, having no intention of doing anything but chatting without (and about) their husbands. The night goes on and after one wife scores a couple points without trying, the other gets a little competitive and starts doing a few flirty hair tosses. One husband gets competitive and goes over to his wife to encourage her not to lose the bet... there's actually a lot of money riding on it. She brushes him off and a stranger comes over to "rescue her" with "is this man bothering you?" She says he is and the stranger glares at the husband and joins the ladies. The game continues, inconclusive that first night, so needing another round or two. Over time, the men, wanting to help their own wife, start playing the role of wingman... sometimes chatting up a guy at the bar about the basketball game on the TV, then introducing they stranger to his friends, especially his wife who happens to have something in common with what they were just talking about.

And so competitive spirit increases, everyone involved finds themselves turned on, slippery slope through 10 chapters culminating in all manner of debauchery.

In this case, I can see why the wife might want to swap. IRL, sadly, I'm only aware of one female friend that's open to trying out menage (she's currently a 38yo widow (sadly her husband drunk himself to an early death)

what will a woman gain by doing menage and swapping? Don't get me wrong, love the idea
