An old dying tree falling on a White House tour group of kids would be a hard day for the PR team.
If some species is renamed the Trump tree, Trump would be glad to have more trees planted.

More hand wringing and manufactured drama from the PB dems. Heaven forbid the sky actually falls. :)
 
The trees have been under intensive maintenance and assessment for decades by very good people

A number of years ago a guy stole a small plane and crashed it into the magnolia and the steps. A few lower branches were removed. The magnolia became a crash barrier and reduced building damage

As a result of that crash, the tree is dangerous to passers by. Since it's near one of the entrances to the WH, it's a hazard. No employer would allow such a hazard to continue to exist because that would constitute negligence should anyone be injured by it.

Yet that's what you're advocating. Because you cannot, and adamantly refuse to, recognize anything sensible if it involves Trump.

The magnolia needs to be removed for safety reasons. HOWEVER, the plan is to plant a new one to replace it. Trump and false sentimentality should play no part in that decision.
 
What do you know about tree safety? Or are you speaking with the expertise of a sidewalk engineer
 
This is like Trump paving over part of the Rose Garden -- it doesn't matter, but it matters.

I'm supporting the report conclusions of the National Park Service which is in charge of the WH grounds and flora.

Basically, people with expertise and actual knowledge of the tree's condition say it needs to come down. You can either insert your own brand of sidewalk engineering in place of that or you can accept the recommendation of those in charge of maintaining the WH grounds.

Simple choice. Unless you're an idiot with TDS.
