I can confirm that in the early stages of our “discovering conversations” this was also my position: in theory I would do it only just to grant him this “favor”. I appreciate the insight. The only rules my wife has set is that we wouldn't play locally and not with someone we know which as we live in a country town I fully agree with.

Same here: it was always abroad, and yes, at first I also said "nobody we know and certainly NOT his friends... that last part did change by coincedance. In retrospect, I wonder why I was so reluctant, but as long as you're just ‘getting started’ you shouldn't think too much about it. Everything does fall into place as long as you understand and support each other as a couple in what you are doing.
