It does. It's just difficult to get off. The nurse in me recoils at the uncleanliness of it all.

My ex father-in-law was of the old breed.

He nicked himself with a chainsaw once on the leg. Legend has it that he went back to the house, duct taped it and went back to work.

Now this is family lore from the exes side of the fam.

But I wouldn’t doubt it. He’s a tough son of a bitch!

That's what we're afraid of here. The politicians keep trying to sell a state income tax by saying property taxes and sales tax can be "lowered" (not eliminated). I know they both will just creep back up.

We already have a transit tax imposed on us when we pay our vehicle registration each year. It was voted down but the politicians instituted it anyway. It's infuriating because vehicle values are artificially inflated for maximum tax. Also, there is NO transit in my area. So I get ZERO benefit.

Even when taxes go “down”, they still go up.

I don't like fermented foods. I won't eat sauerkraut, kombucha, or kimchee. I do like yoghurt.

Does wine, beer and liquor fall under the “fermented food” family?

If so, I’m a fan!

You can boil them, sauté them, broil them.

Or best of all, you can eat em raw!! (Grated, sliced, cubed)

Beets are a “superfood” whatever the hell that means. They are not to everyone’s taste.

Well home after a busy weekend. Saturday I was in Birmingham for a conference with 4.5 hours driving each way so up at 3.00 am and home @ 9.00pm. Fortunately my pal drove but the sodding clocks went forward an hour!

Today I was up at 05.30 to drive 6 honours to see my mum on Mother’s Day. Well worth it and we even walked to the local art gallery .. about a mile despite her stroke in December…. Incredible woman!

You are superhuman!

Morning everyone. Week two of training begins today. I should be sleeping. First night in a hotel is always tough, at least for me. Hope you all have the best Monday possible.

There was a time I traveled so much I got very accustomed to hotels. There were a few times I woke up and had to think about where I was.

Well, back to work after a really nice vacation, even though it was cut back a day.

Yesterday, we cut back and pruned all of the blueberry bushes and weed and put down pre-emergent near the beds.

It’s beginning to look like we have a vole problem in the backyard too…

Now back to my day job and a three week sprint of classes I’m doing as well as all the regular shit (aka meetings and corralling of people) I do. Sigh.

That reminds me of the story I heard about a man who cut himself in the leg with a chainsaw. He threw it and cussed it for being dull. The man who told me that story allegedly was there.

I’m sorry to read your area was getting more storms. Up north, it came and was done in less than 30 minutes. Further north of me they got a horrible ice storm.
