Because people want to kill other people. That is the only reason to own/use something like that. And no.. I do not think that should even exist let alone be owned by someone.

Why should any government authority be allowed to do so? Look at the history of government, guns and killing people. The numbers are up in the hundreds of millions, if not more.
You're not going to uninvent guns, and if you're truly worried about mass slaughter of humans by guns, civilian ownership is the least of your worries.
You're not actually answering the question of "why someone should own it". I own plenty of firearms, and I can't for the life of me see what this particular weapon would be used for, besides poaching or hunting coon at night, or the other most obvious reason....

You think? Trouble with those is the poor barrel seating. The light weight gives up a lot of accuracy. You need 30 rounds to do what one good aimed round can do. Just toys for wana be soldiers.

And here you are contributing to that infringement while complaining that your unwritten "right" to be free from fear is somehow greater than my ENUMERATED Rights.

The founders didn't just come back from a hunting trip when they drafted the Constitution. The cliff notes version of all of that is they understood that a free society requires that the citizens be able to defend their lives and their country or they won't have either.
You and the rest of the anti-gun oppressors have grown soft on the backs of those who sweated and died to create what you now take for granted. Which is why you want to get rid of the things which free you from tyranny.
