That is sad. what kills it for us is late frost when the blossom is outRaspberries and black berries are under several feet of snow here yet. Apples and cherries are due for some pruning once the ground gets bare.
What kills our apple crop is early warm spells. Sometimes we get a good thaw and they bloom before the bees seem to make it out. Or they bloom and then we get snow for a week. No apples those years.
