At 11:44 a.m., the account labeled “Pete Hegseth” posted in Signal a “TEAM UPDATE.” I will not quote from this update, or from certain other subsequent texts. The information contained in them, if they had been read by an adversary of the United States, could conceivably have been used to harm American military and intelligence personnel, particularly in the broader Middle East, Central Command’s area of responsibility. What I will say, in order to illustrate the shocking recklessness of this Signal conversation, is that the Hegseth post contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing.

I have a couple of questions someone here might know the answers to:

Did Goldberg take screen shots of the classified or 'sensitive' posts like he did the rest?
If he did, would that mean he could be prosecuted for having possession of it?

I'm hoping he did take the screen shots, downloaded them onto a thumb drive and then cleared the information from his pc before anyone else could access it, so he can share the detailed proof with the Committee asking gabbard and the other one for the information. If their denials can be proven lies, it'd be huge. He would need to be very careful who he passed that drive onto, though, since coverups for the incompetence will be a priority. Would it even reach the committee?

If he would be liable to prosecution for having viewed sensitive material not intended for his eyes, I can only imagine (not being a lawyer) the bolded red text would form the bulk of that defense. Would the sensitive information even be allowed in a courtroom, given how it was secured by Goldberg? Just wondering aloud. I'm keen that the facts come out and am very wary that they would.

How trust-diminishing is it that the person who should never have been included in the conversation that should never have happened over Signal have to be the one who informs the 'Tiger team' of his presence? If they cannot even notice one person in the small group in the text chats, how should we be convinced they can notice entire groups of hostiles threatening the USA?
