If you've ever seen big rigs on the road, hauling oilfield stuff (pipe, liquid mud, fuel, etc) .... we're doing the same thing at sea. We just haul a LOT more at once.
It's nothing glamorous, just a needed service.

I was stationed in Germany in the 80’s, and again in the late 90’s early 2000’s. I’m sure it’s changed a lot in the past 25 years.

Mother nature is trying to lull us into a false sense of security before hurricane season. I got a new battery for the generator and took out the gas from last year. Getting ready. Today I will check the boards for the garage door reinforcement and put new SS anchors in the floor.

So, for the record. I'll take snow over that kind of crap!
It's predictable and leaves your house intact. (Unless you don't shovel your roof, but that's your own fault, and that takes months!)

We blew a head/liner kit (not an uncommon thing).

Mum had a good couple of years after Dad passed, in her own apartment in a community of similar people. She made new friends and lived only 4 miles from my sister and nieces. She passed quickly and quietly. Hopefully, she is now back with Dad and the succession of ageing dogs that she took on in her later years.

Take good care... being executor is important, but a lot of work... and can interfere with the grieving process at times.

Typical weather where it swings from winter to spring from day to day. It drives my sinuses crazy.

Ugh... sinuses and migraines here. Keep up with the self-care. Hopefully the Bouncy Bouncy Weather settles down soon.

I am not, but blowing a head is never good... this much I know from experience. Big, expensive repair

The power pack is no biggie... where the morning REALLY gets good, is the 10 man crew that we were supposed to haul to the platform arrived. Turns out, they're supposed to stay on the boat for the duration of the job (estimated 2 weeks)... no groceries were ordered, no cook was contracted...
Max capacity of my vessel is 16 people, it's maxed. Thus far, my Monday has been a full blown shitshow before the sun even came up....
But at least I didn't get struck by lightning!

same... I can pump gas, check oil and tire pressure, top off fluids, and clean the windows - and I know how to change a tire, but don't have the strength do actually do it myself... but that's where the "Garage Talk" with the girls ended at our house
