Fellow Celt reporting in... sounds on-brand to me
(Good chance of Saxon, too... Teutonic if by way of the British Isles)
Helpful - even in dreamland
Impressive
Side trip to WI... MN sells 151 Proof, but not 190 Proof.
For that you have to visit WI or a few other states
Everclear Legal States
Sad News -
I was almost done with a big catch-up... and I lost it all
sometimes the Cyber Gods of Refresh smile upon you
and sometimes they do not![]()
We have Blue Bunny in the Midwest.I've heard Blue Bunny is good.
Maybe it is!Is this Mayberry?
The reason mayberry was so peaceful was because nobody was married, Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Floyd, Howard, Goober, Gomer, Sam, Ernest t Bass, Helen, Thelma lou, Clara, and Opie we're all single!
The only married person was otis and he stayed drunk!
My sister makes her own candy. I should try it.My mom liked those... I like pecans (plain). And lots of other nuts and seeds - plain or roasted, unsalted.
Milk chocolate is too sweet for me. Heck, "standard dark chocolate" (60% cacao) is too sweet for me.
I like a good dark chocolate nut cluster, but prefer to make my own with 82% - 90% cacao dark chocolate.
Make enough for all of us, please! All this chocolate talk makes me want to make some chocolate molten lava cakes!![]()
Check in w/ sis for some tips and see if you can borrow some of her tools, molds, etc. Try some out to see what you like. Can be expensive start-up if you don't have any of the equipment to start. That's assuming you're getting fancy and not just "heat, mix, drop, cool" like me.My sister makes her own candy. I should try it.
Partners do grow together if they're lucky and stay together long enough.Or you grow into it.
I've grown to match my wife's bullheadedness. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
I would love them, I think!Very rich. Lots of yolk.
The sander is good for removing the last bit of fine hairs and any dead, dry skin cells. It helps your skin produce collagen!Lili - lovely to see you
Means I may be up a tad late, but it's Saturday, so...
And if we're lucky our loved ones from the other side stop in for a visit. I love those dreams the most... b/c I miss those folks the most.![]()
Genius!! I need to get a couple of those!
I'm a known over-packer
First vacation this year? My checked bag was 2 pounds over the limit. I opened the suitcase to see what I could jettison for the trip. Lifted a pack of brownies up - and it was exactly 2 pounds lighter. Made 2 young ladies at the bag check station very happy.
And I still had 3 more packs of brownies for my friends at the destination.
Quiet in an argument is counterintuitive but can be very effective.
I use an epilator all the time... I have an esthetician for waxing, too. I often see him before a trip for a more thorough attention to detail. Plus, some spots are easier for him to get than for me.
Never heard of using a sander on the legs though... heels, toenails, not legs. Huh!
It's the growing together that can be trickyPartners do grow together if they're lucky and stay together long enough.
Sit by me - you can have mineI would love them, I think!
So long it feels like FOREVER, right?Partners do grow together if they're lucky and stay together long enough.
That's a beautiful thing IMO...So long it feels like FOREVER, right?
That's our running joke. Very seriously we say it feels like we've been together forever... Then we laugh... followed by a little cry...

Ice cream is my weakness....I have to limit myself by using smaaalllllll bowls!
Sorry I missed you... Goodnight and rest well!Getting out of here for the night.
Good night!
I took my driver's license test in a '57My dad had one of these in Hunter Green and my brother repainted it Metal Flake Sky Blue
Aunt Margie ALWAYS had a jar of vanilla bean soaking in vodka in her kitchen.I like the vanilla from the bean pods.
That's exactly what I'm doing... I have 4 small mason jars in my kitchen cabinet. I shake them once a week. They should be ready for first use around 4th of July.Aunt Margie ALWAYS had a jar of vanilla bean soaking in vodka in her kitchen.
IMHO, there's a fine line, between trying to help "grow together" and trying to change the core of the one that a person fell in love with...I can't always see it in the moment but I'm always willing to listen.
I'm not a volatile person. When I'm angry, I'm more of a cold stealth bitch. I've been told it's scary. I just think it's more civilized than screaming and throwing things in anger.
It also sometimes takes me a while to process my feelings. I've learned to own them and not place blame on my partner for them. While I'm processing, I tend to withdraw. When I'm ready, a productive conversation can take place.
We are quite philosophical this weekend, aren't we?
That's awesome! That's exactly what I'm doing... I have 4 small mason jars in my kitchen cabinet. I shake them once a week. They should be ready for first use around 4th of July.
Not cheap - but so easy and so much less expensive than what you can find nowadays.
Not sure if your auntie did this, too... but from what I read, you continue to use every bit of the vanilla bean pod until it's entirely consumed. That's awesome!
You just put a smile on my face!
I can't remember all of the details of what she did, but I thank you for the great info! Not sure if your auntie did this, too... but from what I read, you continue to use every bit of the vanilla bean pod until it's entirely consumed.
Split and soak in vodka to make extract
Soak for @ 6 months
Then start to use & continue to "feed" the jars - more beans and vodka.
Every time you add a new bean, take an old one out. Dry it out, then put it in a small jar w/ sugar. It then infuses and makes vanilla sugar (great for coffee and baking).
When it's infused the sugar thoroughly, take the bean and grind into powder and use as vanilla powder for baking.
You can do all these things independent of each other or in a succession. But bottom line is to thoroughly and completely use every spec of the bean.
Ithat idea of zero waste. Plus - vanilla is darn tasty!!
Goodness... in that case, let me drop a few online resources from some folk who have done this before since I'm a newbieI can't remember all of the details of what she did, but I thank you for the great info!
I'm bookmarking this and saving a screenshot as well!
