Cuckold category

Why no category for only cuckold/hotwife stories? I think it may lessen those who feel they have to tell everyone how much they hate cuckold stories. I don't get the need to read something you hate, but that is just me.
Nothing wrong with being a cuckold. It takes a special man to live with a promiscuous wife or gf. From my personal experience it's worth it.

I have seen similar threads.
For me, the missing category is Bisexuality.
Not all people are so rigidly decided.
Lesbian, Gay Male, Gender fluid, Trans Gender, Trans sexual, Pan sexual, Asexual.
There is a middle ground where people are curious, and the stories surrounding them are just as fluid.
Not all women who delve into same sex relationships are going to become Lesbians. They are curious... Want to experiment. The same is true for all humans.
I would love to see a caregory where people dabble... Experiment. Those stories don't do so well in Gay Male, or Lesbian. They can sometimes do OK is EC...
For me though, their is a need for a category where stories such as that could live without the animosity of those ho feel otherwise...

Apologies, not trying to derail your thread.

Male bisexuality specifically -- female bisexuality can pretty much go in any of the vanilla categories without pushback. Nearly every story in Group Sex is some variation of MFF+.

My one foray into the category had MM and FF and various combos. I was hoping the audience there would take it in stride. The response wasn't bad, but despite being a contest entry it didn't get much attention, and I did wonder if the MM aspects drove people away. Of course, it was also a silly pseudo-scientific piece of fluff, and I can't rule out the chance that the readers there generally prefer more plausible fare.

As for the OP, yeah, it definitely seems like it's time for the hotwife fanciers and bitch-burners to get divorced into separate categories... although something tells me the split wouldn't be amicable and revenge fetishists would keep stalking their exes in the new category. Art imitates life or somesuch.

Did it have the two males interacting with each other (I'm assuming it did)? Because I realize I was imprecise in what I said -- there are plenty of MMF, MMFFF etc stories in Group Sex, but most of them don't involve sexual contact between the male characters. The MMFFF stories, for example, tend to break down into MF + MFF encounters happening at the same time and place with partner-swapping.

Yes, there was MM which then added an F when the protag (F) arrived, plus a scene with MMFF that involved splitting into MM/FF and MF/MF at various points.

Yeah, I need more, not less of that kind of thing.

I think the answer to your question is because Loving Wives was supposed to be that, but then over time the Burn The Bitch stereotype/formula/"subgenre" whatever you wanna put it as ruined it. A lot of those stories are just Lost Highway but bad. Jealous husband kills wife is where those things start and end. The best ones explore the emotions of the situation. But that vibe is super corrosive to me to read so it isn't my thing.

Now, cuckold stories do the worst on average in terms of reception in that category in particular, the category that was originally intended for cuckold stories, so it's a really ironic cruel joke on any writer who doesn't know that going in.

We should probably operate in BDSM or Interracial if that's a part of the story in terms of category, as there isn't a Femdom specific category either. Tags are important! Always use as many tags as you can.

Even the term "cuckold" is used by people differently, usually as an insult. Why not ask for a separate category for "Insecure Husbands"? How about "Deviants"? Or just "Good Reads for Shitheads?

If they think about another category for the OP (and some many others have asked) it would pass more easily as something like "Cheating Spouse". But those who like BTB stories think they own LW, and they won't go there.

And it's not worth the effort. Just know that not everyone likes your story, regardless of where it's posted. And appreciate that at least they are viewing it.

I've never understood this, by the way. In my experience, almost everybody has had some kind of same sex thoughts at some point, and nobody bats an eye when a woman decides to be bisexual, but if a man does it, it causes all kinds of unnecessary drama. Weird.

I specifically went out of my way, in my series, to make many of the main characters male bisexuals. Busting open tropes has been a consistent sub theme in my stuff, even if I don't come right out and say it. Envisioning a world where nobody cares about this stuff was the first step, and then trying to write that way has been part of the fun.

But back to OP's post, I don't know if a cuckold category is going to fix the issues that some people believe exist in the Loving Wives category - for some reason, I get the feeling that the folks who read stuff there actually get off on throwing rotten tomatoes at people. I don't know if that would change if they had a different category and Loving Wives became something different. But that's a perennial debate, and the folks who have been here far longer than my six months can tell you all the travails about that.

I would say to put it in Fetish if it's a true cuckold story. You avoid the Burn the Bitch crowd. Loving Wives has changed from its original concept (cheating wives and the men that love them', implying cuckoldry), at least how I remember it, to a category with a majority now more focused on 1) the deception, 2) the discovery, and 3) the retaliation by the aggrieved. Unfortunately, it is difficult to make a complete separation at this point so RAAC believers will tank a BTB story and vice versa.
