The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

That is a form of child abuse, methinks. There is a line between encouraging kids to try stuff and teaching them about other things, and making them eat stuff they loathe.
It absolutely is child abuse! I vowed I would never do that to any child of mine. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky enough to have any. So, I became a dog mom. Even with my dogs, if they refused a certain food, I would take it up and try something else. My mom's feeling was "If they get hungry enough, they'll eat it." 🤬

My mom was a good cook. She was also controlling and a narcissist. She thought if she decreed something, it should happen.
Good cook helps. The rest sounds frustrating.
My parents were often open to listen... didn't always change their decision, but allowed both sides to have a better understanding overall.
Check with your local hospitals for recommendations. Also ask friends and family in the area. Don't be afraid to leave a provider if you don't click. And, as always, I'm here for you! 🫂🫂
Wise words. Personal reccos mean a lot to me.
I have "fired" (i.e. changed providers) many providers over the years. Some just not a good fit and others? I'll just say they weren't up to my standards and leave it at that.

I did. They convened without warning and were unanimous.

The good news is, we were still new to one another then and they didn't hold it against me.

I remember that some times, Calypso would put the bridge of his nose (a very long thing) against my body and then rub it up and down against me. I suspected that it itched and it was how he scratched. It was kinda funny.
Wonderful memory! I bet it felt like a massage to you!

My wife has complained about this for years. She’s an outdoor worker and even women jeans and women’s Carharts have smaller pockets.

Then this topic came up with my daughter last night over dinner! WTH? My daughter described it as a women’s pants designer conspiracy.

And big purse! (She’s got a good sense of humor!)

Someone PLEASE make women’s pants w larger pockets! 😂
It's true! I've seen pockets into pants before. Now, I just don't buy them. Sometimes I buy men's pants. They ALWAYS have pockets. Unfortunately, I haven't found any men's yoga pants I like. 😄😄

Don’t worry, I keep detailed notes. She been with the agency for over 35 years and knows exactly how the game is played.

Thanks for listening. I just had to get my frustrations off my chest.

Frankly, if I could afford it, I’d retire now and walk away. I’m eligible, but if I punch out before I’m 62 I lose 5% if my retirement per year that I’m under 62. In other words that’s about $500 a month - over the course of the rest of my life. Sorry, nobody’s driving me away for $500 a month.
And you shouldn't let anyone drive you away!

Wife is in Pre-op…we said our prayers and goodbyes, so had a minute to log on. Total knee replacement today for her.

Thanks Lili for the in depth review! That makes me feel a little better…no I lied…a LOT better! 😘. Talked to the nurse yesterday and she immediately put me on low dose aspirin. They also wanted to put me on either Atorvastatin or Rosuvastatin? Any good info on either one of those? The nurse didn’t elaborate much as we spoke over the phone and I basically know what both do. I’ve also been referred to a cardiologist and I asked for my mom’s doc. She likes him and I figure why not keep it in the family? He’ll know our family history pretty well.

So…I guess I get to join the wonderful world of meds. I’ve never been on a continuing med regime…ever…so this is a wake up call. Time to start quading my lutes out in the back yard! 🤣

Thanks again Lili. Our resident nurses here are my trusted source of all things medical! 😻🩻🏥. Love y’all!

I’ll leave you with the McCauley Hot Spring at Jemez Springs, NM…have a great day and hopefully get an early start to the weekend!

I hope your wife's surgery went well, H!

Statin drugs are used to reduce cholesterol and other fats from the blood. You should let your provider know if you drink more than 2 alcoholic beverages per day, have liver or kidney disease, or thyroid problems. They're both well known statins. Atorvastatin, known by the trade name Lipitor, is a bit older and has had a good track record. Rosuvastatin, or Crestor, is a newer drug. They both will lower the LDL, or bad, cholesterol. HDL, or good, cholesterol can be increased with exercise.

Low dose aspirin has been used as a mild platelet inhibitor for years. Newer studies have shown little to no correlation with blood thinning. However, I have seen patients with stroke or heart attack helped by aspirin. I don't think it hurts to be on it and it might help.

Just try to remember, it is possible to "out-eat" your meds! They won't save you from a bad diet. There's a reason fast food is called "heart attack in a sack!"

It is amazing kids can turn out decent with the shitty things our parents did to us...
