It's pretty simple.The world: MAGA government is causing economic chaos which is driving up prices and crushing the markets, with the only possible benefactors being Trump's circle of rich loyalists.

Primary elections are not in the Constitution, they're a 20th-Century invention. If, at that point in the process, Joe Biden, having won all the primaries, had simply died, no one would have suggested a second round of primaries was necessary. The delegates pledged to vote for Biden at the nominating convention would simply be no longer so pledged; they would have to settle on another candidate. Which is what happened.
