It is always easy to blame someone without looking at many factors including your level of business sophistication. Many small business owners have industry specific knowledge and general business experience. A growing company sometimes outgrows the owners ability to keep the company on a growth path. You were in business for 24 years. When did it turn down? Your industry? Your actions? When companies grow or falter, it is sometimes prudent to bring in outside counsel and help to navigate the tougher times especially after the pandemic. Banks and other lenders will sometimes require that if they see a loan going sideways.

You can always sell your business. The question is at what price and if that is acceptable to you.
