Story in pending

I had a story in pending for two weeks and not sent back or published. I cancelled it and resubmitted and it's the same issue.

Who do I contact about it?

You have to contact Laurel about it.

She is really busy though so she might not respond. But even if she doesn't respond, it could still help resolving your issue since it will at least bring it to her attention.

Every time you cancel and resubmit a story you go to the end of the queue, and your typical 10 - 14 day wait as a newbie starts again. Don't do that, be patient. If it's gone more than two weeks in radio silence, send a polite PM to Laurel

She's the sole site editor; every story gets vetted (to a degree) - we suspect several word bots are used to screen content before human eyes even look at it - and new writers usually take longer for their first stories to get through. Their stories get a slightly deeper scan for content compliance.

If a story is rejected, you'll get a notice on your control panel. You don't get any progress status. Pending changes to either New or Rejected, but there's nothing in between.

Rejections these days are most usually for suspected use of AI, bad grammar and punctuation, and possible under-age content. The last two have always been the case, it's only been this last year or two that AI junk has raised its banal boring head.
