Woot!! That goes in the Win Column IMOThe presentation went okay. For the first time they actually asked me questions.
Rant away!!Now for my rant of the day.
There is one of my employees I loath. Not dislike, not hate…but loath. This is the second time I’ve been her supervisor and she causes me more stress than any other single or group of employees I’ve ever had. She’s been in a mood recently, over who knows what now, and we are all walking in egg shells. I asked my boss to recognize her for some of the work she’s done recently and she acted like we were criticizing her and out to get her. She makes it quite clear, over and over again, about her dietary allergies and the team does the best to accommodate her but she doesn’t even have lunch with the team. I’ve invited her, but she refuses. She gets pissed off when nobody reacts to her posts in our group chat, and then gets pissed if when she feels the response wasn’t appropriate. If she is calling out sick, which is frequently, she’ll text me at 5:50 am. I’ve told her to wait until later, but she doesn’t get it. I understand she has background medical issues, I’ve had to work with her before and accommodate them, but you don’t need to shove them in the team’s face to stand out. She has the union on speed dial, and isn’t afraid to remind us of her close personal friendship with the local shop steward. I just with she would retire, and by the way so does her husband (who is a great guy).
Ok, rant over. Sorry about that. No need to reply I just needed to get this off my chest.

This. explains. so. much.I like breaking things.
I dust a teensy bit of sugar or tolerated sugar substitute and a larger amount of cinnamon on sliced jicama. I figure if lime, chili, salt works for savory...I wish i had a cookie or something a little sweet
Never wrong IMO - just had this conversation with my sibling's eldest. Quick vs slow for them and us. As @Wonderer67 said, cherish the time you have... show her how much you love her. She's a beautiful companion!! And show yourself some grace, too. There's a lot on your plate... and this is more. She's my bud. She's turned into my shadow in the last few years.
I just wish she was younger. She's old, and stuff, and sore, and I'm pretty sure her heart is going now. Is it wrong to hope it's quick, and in her sleep? I know it's coming. I'm afraid it'll be sooner than later. With everything that's been going on, I don't think I can deal with anything else right now...
I thought there was a waiting list for the Procrastinators Club?I am going to join The Procrastinators of America Club, one of these days. I just have not gotten around to it!
Well it worked sort of!Happy Wednesday!!!
So, four horses and a coyote call. Wat ordered this call thingie on Amazon, maybe. It makes all kinds of distressed critter noises. There is one of squalling coyote puppies, which is, I guess, to lure the mommies in. The one that seemed to make as much sense as any was the sound of a very unhappy bunny. Sad bunny makes noises to draw in predators. Okay. So I went out on the back deck with the noisemaker and a rifle (just in case - I had no expectations) and started playing a litany of racket. I was figuring that maybe some of those chicken killers were over in the far trees on the other side of where the mule lives.
There is a look that a horse has when you/something has its undivided attention. S/he looks intently ahead and the ears are following the eyes. The ears won't lie down forward, but they point in that general direction and stay put because it's looking at whatever. You follow the ears with your eyes and you can tell what he's looking at. The only thing that the bunny call drew was four rather judgmental horses over to the house side of the fence line. They were all looking at me and 8 ears were pointed at me, like "Hey. h000man, what you you doing to that bunny? What's wrong with the bunny??" It's the only time I can recall ever seeing all 4 of them together united in one purpose. Besides eating, and even then they have assigned stalls and troughs and such.
So I gave up and went in.
I didn't know. I will be sure to get my name on the list tomorrow maybe.I thought there was a waiting list for the Procrastinators Club?

I have a biggish mug but was admittedly irritated when I realized the biggest one that I like the most was in the dishwasherChecking in for a bit. Time to go get another cup of coffee. I should get a bigger mug!
I don't know if "free range" chickens are still a thing. We had Amish neighbors behind us in PA and they had them and hawks were a problem. When one got into our back yard it met our Old English Sheep Dog but managed to get away. He liked chicken.Well it worked sort of!. I wish I could have seen the look on those horses.
My daughter is again starting to raise chickens as it’s now cost effective for the eggs they lay. And the side benefit of no ticks!
Her biggest issue from her past experience were hawks. She has several dogs that keep other predators away.
Good luck finding the chicken predator.
It may be a good thing. You shouldn't sit too long so getting coffee gets you up and moving a bit. Maybe a smaller mug is better?I have a biggish mug but was admittedly irritated when I realized the biggest one that I like the most was in the dishwasher....like how many times do I really want to walk into the kitchen for refills? Lol
