Rare lull for a quick catch up

Nice to see OM stopping by with her memes from time to time. Lovely to see you when time allows, @Oldermom935

*refers to air fryer
Me neither. Bought one - off gassed it, then repacked and regifted at Christmas with a few silicone accessories. Was well received.

😥 Entirely too many for me to do the same for all I am missing during vacation. Sorry folks. In a perfect world I absolutely would, but current reality has limited resources.

I try to avoid oats as they tend to make my tummy ache.
No gluten sensitivity or celiac issues - just an unhappy tummy when I eat oats in about any form. 🤷‍♀️

😍 love my toaster oven!!!

*adds Stepladder For Downstairs to birthday gift list for Lili*

I'd like this on a badge for our leather jackets please

Oh, no! Poor puppy and poor you. Glad you got it sorted. 😢 He's so lucky to have you as his person. 🫂

Ugh - hate those! I like at least 15 minutes to get online and take a quick look at what came in since the previous day.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go

My advice - eye on the prize... post-surgical recovery

Do as many of the pre-surgical exercises as possible... you will need those muscles during recovery.
You get out of PT what you put in.

Also, when in recovery and needing to get out of bed those first few days.. slip your good leg under your surgical one to help lift and rotate out of bed.

Last bit of advice - ice. Lots and lots of ice.
It helps with pain between doses of pain meds. For me, it works better than the pain meds.

I've had both mine replaced. Each was its own experience. Feel free to DM with any questions. Not an expert by any means but happy to share what I experienced.

Good luck to you both!!

Same - but this new phone is a brick! I said that when I got my last phone... but this time I mean it??
Even my travel pants with two large pockets on either side aren't big enough for this monster.

You know your stuff and you've got this!!

po-tay-to
po-tah-to

Or focus on their shoulder instead of their face. From a distance, it still looks like good eye contact.

Off for a short nap before my next vacation adventure.
Have fun everyone... Happy Tuesday
Love ur updates L2! They help bring me up to speed!!

Way back in a past life I worked at this warehouse. Every so often, we had to break up old crates and pallets.

I came up w a great trick. Put the forks of the forklift all the way to the right side. Pick up the crate in question with it hanging all the way off to the right.

Go at full speed and sideswipe the dumpster. The crates would just explode into pieces like this.

Plus it was fun!

I like breaking things.

really busy day. I am supporting two teams doing a town hall tomorrow. Plus I gotta produce it. Lotsa last minute stuff. Be glad when it’s done.

And other work bullshit. But nothin I can’t tackle.

Got home and had a quick dinner and then split wood at the farm till 7. Cleaned off the zero turn mower and am gonna give it a full annual maintenance on Saturday: sharpen the blades, change the oil, line the grease fittings (big time set up!)

And yay! A mason called me back to do some demon work at the stone mill. He’ll look at the job on Saturday.

Love these long days!!

can ya catch up on a book or a fun tv show? Like sports? A lot of the basketball conference championship tournaments are under way.
I am watching star wars.... I wish i had a cookie or something a little sweet.... but I dont and I am not going out to get anything. I have eaten enough today....

My coworker is a floor down I could call if I wanted too but...nah.

Gonna take a shower and go to sleep in a bit

So do I!!!

The landlady likes shooting toilets.

Great looking dog, dkak!
She's my bud. She's turned into my shadow in the last few years.

I just wish she was younger. She's old, and stuff, and sore, and I'm pretty sure her heart is going now. Is it wrong to hope it's quick, and in her sleep? I know it's coming. I'm afraid it'll be sooner than later. With everything that's been going on, I don't think I can deal with anything else right now...

She looks like a fine companion and bud. Enjoy the time yaz got together!

Sweet Dreams to those tucking in for the night... I'm not far behind...
The presentation went okay. For the first time they actually asked me questions.
Woot!! That goes in the Win Column IMO :nana:
Now for my rant of the day.

There is one of my employees I loath. Not dislike, not hate…but loath. This is the second time I’ve been her supervisor and she causes me more stress than any other single or group of employees I’ve ever had. She’s been in a mood recently, over who knows what now, and we are all walking in egg shells. I asked my boss to recognize her for some of the work she’s done recently and she acted like we were criticizing her and out to get her. She makes it quite clear, over and over again, about her dietary allergies and the team does the best to accommodate her but she doesn’t even have lunch with the team. I’ve invited her, but she refuses. She gets pissed off when nobody reacts to her posts in our group chat, and then gets pissed if when she feels the response wasn’t appropriate. If she is calling out sick, which is frequently, she’ll text me at 5:50 am. I’ve told her to wait until later, but she doesn’t get it. I understand she has background medical issues, I’ve had to work with her before and accommodate them, but you don’t need to shove them in the team’s face to stand out. She has the union on speed dial, and isn’t afraid to remind us of her close personal friendship with the local shop steward. I just with she would retire, and by the way so does her husband (who is a great guy).

Ok, rant over. Sorry about that. No need to reply I just needed to get this off my chest.
Rant away!!
Deep breath
Now - who do you know that has dealt with a similar issue with positive results? In or out of your company.
Anyone with union and/or HR experience to help??
How close are you to retirement? Options to move up your date? Options to change jobs?
I've worked with this person before as a peer, not management.
🏃‍♂️ My only advice - GTFO - them or you.
I hope he was!

That's just how Ethyl is.
🫅 Queen!
Luck on both accounts… your heart health and the missus’ upcoming procedure!
Yes!! 🍀 for both - I'm not one of the resident nurses, so was quiet on the blood calcium issue. I haven't even slept at a Holiday Inn Express
Best wishes for you both!!
Sitting in the hotel room. Bored out of my skull
Beats being stuck in the office drowning in work IMO 🤷‍♀️
Love ur updates L2! They help bring me up to speed!!
😊 Aw, thanks for the compliment
I like breaking things.
This. explains. so. much. :ROFLMAO:
I wish i had a cookie or something a little sweet
I dust a teensy bit of sugar or tolerated sugar substitute and a larger amount of cinnamon on sliced jicama. I figure if lime, chili, salt works for savory...

Never wrong IMO - just had this conversation with my sibling's eldest. Quick vs slow for them and us. As @Wonderer67 said, cherish the time you have... show her how much you love her. She's a beautiful companion!! And show yourself some grace, too. There's a lot on your plate... and this is more.

Good morning early risers, afternoon to those over the pond and evening to our other friends.

Another beautiful day yesterday but winter will not let go as much cooler today. Then it warms up again. The birds are chirping but no buds on the trees yet.

Of to do a taxi run later this morning.

Have a good day.

Happy Wednesday!!!

So, four horses and a coyote call. Wat ordered this call thingie on Amazon, maybe. It makes all kinds of distressed critter noises. There is one of squalling coyote puppies, which is, I guess, to lure the mommies in. The one that seemed to make as much sense as any was the sound of a very unhappy bunny. Sad bunny makes noises to draw in predators. Okay. So I went out on the back deck with the noisemaker and a rifle (just in case - I had no expectations) and started playing a litany of racket. I was figuring that maybe some of those chicken killers were over in the far trees on the other side of where the mule lives.

There is a look that a horse has when you/something has its undivided attention. S/he looks intently ahead and the ears are following the eyes. The ears won't lie down forward, but they point in that general direction and stay put because it's looking at whatever. You follow the ears with your eyes and you can tell what he's looking at. The only thing that the bunny call drew was four rather judgmental horses over to the house side of the fence line. They were all looking at me and 8 ears were pointed at me, like "Hey. h000man, what you you doing to that bunny? What's wrong with the bunny??" It's the only time I can recall ever seeing all 4 of them together united in one purpose. Besides eating, and even then they have assigned stalls and troughs and such.

So I gave up and went in.

Well it worked sort of! 🤣. I wish I could have seen the look on those horses.

My daughter is again starting to raise chickens as it’s now cost effective for the eggs they lay. And the side benefit of no ticks!

Her biggest issue from her past experience were hawks. She has several dogs that keep other predators away.

Good luck finding the chicken predator.
