When the day has taken its share
Light is dimming, as I do too,
It’s fading fast, time slipping
Laying here thinking of you,
Restless torrents of thoughts
In the back of my mind, I keep,
Try holding them back but fail
Come rushing back, fighting sleep,
I close my eyes and try to rest
Body still, breathing steady,
No more fighting, giving up
Finally it comes and I’m ready.
