How do they not take care of their horses?!? 🤬🤬
I will preface this with not all Amish are the same. I dont think being Amish is a precursor for not caring for animals..I was speaking about the rescue alone.....they rescue a lot of previously Amish owned animals.... there are a lot of equine animals ( horses, mules, donkeys etc. ) that are neglected by lots of different people... my bff was president of the humane society in her county for 15 years and she has told me stories of blindness from head strikes, overgrown or traumatic injuries to hooves where the horses can barely walk, overuse injuries (too heavy loads for too long) that have caused arthritic changes to joints. Untreated cancers that cause horrific pain, unfloated teeth so they can't eat...horses teeth grown so they can get sharp points that cause pain so they won't eat, malnourished because of poor quality or not enough food. Whip mark scars ( you don't have to beat a horse to make it work and if you do you are the problem and an asshole) etc.....

I dont think animals are people...they don't need to be treated like people.. but they deserve basic care....and kindness
