I will preface this with not all Amish are the same. I dont think being Amish is a precursor for not caring for animals..I was speaking about the rescue alone.....they rescue a lot of previously Amish owned animals.... there are a lot of equine animals ( horses, mules, donkeys etc. ) that are neglected by lots of different people... my bff was president of the humane society in her county for 15 years and she has told me stories of blindness from head strikes, overgrown or traumatic injuries to hooves where the horses can barely walk, overuse injuries (too heavy loads for too long) that have caused arthritic changes to joints. Untreated cancers that cause horrific pain, unfloated teeth so they can't eat...horses teeth grown so they can get sharp points that cause pain so they won't eat, malnourished because of poor quality or not enough food. Whip mark scars ( you don't have to beat a horse to make it work and if you do you are the problem and an asshole) etc.....How do they not take care of their horses?!?![]()
Our girl gang carMe likey!![]()
I had a doc friend whose dad was a vet. When he was a kid he got horse antibiotics..... when he told me that I was like ...whaattt?!?I amuse myself that oats are still made the same ol' way.
They may not be.
I may start buying horse oats from the Amish and cooking those.
Mine does too...the constant reassurance is a lot for me to handleShe does manufacture a lot of what's not going right with her(self).
May I suggest a small step ladder the next time. It is safer. After all, it’s hard to get a feather massage if you are in a cast!I changed the burned out lightbulb on my front porch yesterday. I had to climb onto a chair to reach it but I got it done! I'm ridiculously proud of myself!![]()
Yeah.... I get the worn out part..... I am not talking about that... there is a large difference between worn out and neglected/abusedThey do, at a basic change-the-oil level. They also work them. Horses wear out. Those are the ones we see. Like Boxer on Animal Farm.
I’m listening so soapbox awayMorning all......
I am on the soapbox this am
I haven't even booked hotel for work.trip tomorrow
Giving these sweet poodles a pasture to retire too....They do, at a basic change-the-oil level. They also work them. Horses wear out. Those are the ones we see. Like Boxer on Animal Farm.
I like steel ground oats and make them by soaking them overnight. They have a wonderful nutty flavor.I amuse myself that oats are still made the same ol' way.

NOW? You tell me! Good Monday morning to you! You're supposed to be the timekeeper, S!![]()
I take it, maybe, you soak them in milk? I have done that but have not recently. It is nice to have to cook it. I would usuall add some nuts.I like steel ground oats and make them by soaking them overnight. They have a wonderful nutty flavor.

Relativistic effects change time with speed and gravity field, yes. Actually atomic clocks that in go satellites need to run at different speeds on earth to be correct once they're in space.Doesn’t time speed up or slow down in a black hole??
Askin for a friend of course….
This reminds me of the joke:If Fed Ex and UPS merge, would they call it Fed UP?
Agree. Safety first! You are here by officially instructed to get a 4' stepladder - a proper one, a good one - and to cease using chairs, inverted five gallon buckets, or a box of dog food - as a Vertical Enhancement Device. Please, desist forthwith and hereinafter.
The wife will very occasionally buy a small box of lucky charms. I may or may not admit to stealing a bite or two when she has a bowl. I may or may not load the spoon with the marshmallows when I do...I haven't eaten processed cereals since I was a kid. I'm fairly certain the processing is MUCH different now than it was 50 or so years ago. If I eat grains now, it's things like brown rice amaranth, and quinoa.
I still eat some processed foods, but I try to be selective about it. Chocolate is my downfall!![]()

I’m going back to all the threads and posts that I missed over the weekend.Took a trip into the woods today. Pretty sure we won't see pussy willow until late April at the earliest.
That stream looks cold.
