I heard back from Engine Boy. He's in Jersey - I had kinda guessed as much. It's gooder'n having to go to NYC-the-place-not-to-be. He wants to sell the whole kit-and-caboodle. I told him, okay. I'm formulating a price - ten grand. No more. Last guy up that way I talked to made me an offer I don't refuse - he knocked 37.5% off his asking price over the phone if I'd come get it. I did. Ok, seriously. I want details about how those heads got put together.

I'm half assed planning a pretty similar type of project. Well, maybe more like 7/8 assed. I have a block already. Need to scrounge heads...but know what I'm looking for.

I always have a list and a plan....but the shopping gets annoying so I only get half so I can get out of there

Yesterday started overcast and windy and kinda cool. By noon though, it was 74, sunny, and perfect weather for fishing! We drove up the road a piece to a place I used to pass over driving to college and would always think, that’s a nice spot. Well…it was! Just perfect! Caught a mess of fish, at one point three with a minute or two! Loaded up the cooler and fried ‘em sitting by the fire last night. It promptly got cloudy again today.

I hope everyone had/is having a great weekend. Enjoy the last of it. We were robbed of an hour of it☹️

Omg I will love them all.... there is a rescue called gentle giants where they rescue drafts and draft crosses.... some of them have been dumped for slaughter after working for the Amish for years and years..... because they aren't taken care of and break down.... you should see their hooves.... people should be shot...... I am no fan of peta but if you are gonna have an animal take care of it

I think so also. Heavy Cavalry horses when that was thing and later caisson and cannon haulers.

My wife’s grandfather was in one of the last true horse cavalry units, the 1st Cav, before WWII. When Pearl was bombed, they traded in their horses for Mech, and he started his island hopping journey till wounded in the Solomon Islands.

Calypso and Geezer Poodle were both rescues. Telly was Calypso's bud at the place they came from, so she got a two-fer. Baby Poodle was the result of his mother's slutty behavior - wasn't in the plans. He and Telly are about the same age (24). Horses are all over Out West, and the older ones are unwanted quickly.


The Amish take reasonable care of their livestock, but they are work engines and not pets by a long shot.
